That bloke who does that podcast your annoying friend keeps trying to get you to listen to. He/him. Posts every random thought in his head. AuDHD and not many filters. If you're only interested in my podcast you probably don't want to follow.
Pinned
Now we finally have pinned posts I can pin this and take it out of my profile:
Do *NOT* share screenshots of my posts to my podcast's FB fan group. This is not, for the most part, somewhere I talk about my work, and I don't like personal stuff about me being shared on platforms I'm not on.

When I was a kid if there was a machine that made child porn and talked unwell teens into suicide it would get the dungeons and dragons satanic panic news magazine treatment 24/7 for five years, Oprah would be on the floor of congress firing a gun in the air and NO “FAMILY VALUES” PEOPLE GIVE A SHIT

There are ways to critique the system that make you want to act and ways that make you want to give up. A whole bus of us went down to Columbia for the talk & i swear we all left saying “wtf?!”

I went to one of his talks in college and it was thoroughly demobilizing. Everyone left feeling like organizing was hopeless so why bother.
So many put Chomsky on a pedestal for doing one of the least courageous things there is: criticizing the left. Turns out he is a real POS.

It's really annoying trying to balance avoiding the very obvious burnout I can feel coming on with the fact that all I really want to do is work.

That's from a group of more than a dozen prominent climate scientists. Probably nothing.

So they *do* understand that writing is a real hard-earned skill but they think they can rent it for $40/hr?

I don’t know if this will help any of my other neurodivergent peeps, but you know what I’m doing a lot of now? Logic puzzles. The little grids with “Bob has brown hair and killed either the dragon or the kraken, but not on Tuesday” clues. Having to focus so intently shuts up the anxiety for a bit.

i once bought a new blazer for a schitts creek panel, and when i walked into the green room, catherine o'hara complimented me on it, and also noted that i had forgotten to cut all the threads off the vents.

and then she leaned in and said, "it's because you're going to return it, isn't it"

A reminder: Catherine O’Hara was hired in 1981 for Dick Ebersol’s first SNL season, shot cast photos, and would probably have been one of the 10 greatest cast members ever, but she was freaked out by ultimate esgelord Michael O’Donoghue spraying DANGER on an office wall and peaced out

honestly I think that this is the only thing that makes any sense, and it's why it also makes sense to reject the idea that "white" is actually an ethnicity -- it's not a kind of socio-cultural identity, it's about *participating in the project of white supremacy*.
Really leaning into the whole “if you’re a race-traitor, you’re not white anymore” bit

Terribly sad news about Catherine O'Hara. She was the best thing in A Mighty Wind, which when you look at the sheer depth of that cast is saying something.

Every time y'all Millennials come for Gen X, I'll mutter "my Lord of the Flies ass generation" forever.

Collectively, we were the product of Silent and Boomer adults "finding themselves." I was lucky because I grew up next door to my grandparents, and my parents were hyper responsible eldest kids.

Missed all the Gen X discourse yesterday, but those of us who are actually in the generation have explained this ad nauseam. We had the ultimate worst bullies and mean kids in our generation growing up, and they were never, EVER checked because adults didn't GAF.

Also, Black Gen X is Democratic.
