That bloke who does that podcast your annoying friend keeps trying to get you to listen to. He/him. Posts every random thought in his head. AuDHD and not many filters. If you're only interested in my podcast you probably don't want to follow.
Pinned
Now we finally have pinned posts I can pin this and take it out of my profile:
Do *NOT* share screenshots of my posts to my podcast's FB fan group. This is not, for the most part, somewhere I talk about my work, and I don't like personal stuff about me being shared on platforms I'm not on.

It's not the only reason to oppose the language of takers and shirkers and all that, but people have been warning with good reason: when you establish the existence of a subclass of despised, worthless people it's acceptable to hate and abuse, everyone ends up in there eventually.
The “Labour” Party finds itself arguing ordinary workers, carers and others are “takers”.
Hey everyone, here's the news, if you aren't a high earner, entrepreneur or a "skilled frontline worker" (whatever the fuck that means) the "Labour" Party says you aren't contributing, you're a taker!

The suburban comprehensive I went to was awash at the time with casual sexism, homophobia and racism, but if anyone had targeted one of the Jewish students as described I'm pretty sure even the most neanderthal of my fellow pupils would have gone, "Fuck, that's a bit nasty."

Are we sincerely saying the same gay men and women who chanted along to 'Glad to be gay', supported the singer when he came out as bi and hosted illegal night clubs in their basements are scared of 'gender'?!!

Give our heroes some goddamn credit!

The truth is older queer people have seen this BS before. They fought it.

There is only a small, very small, cohort of older anti-trans gays that are platformed to the ramparts.

And quite frankly it's just ageist bollocks!

Something I'd like to address. There's this idea that TQ+ folk are all 21 year-old art students... and all the 'normal' old school folk are LGB and entirely left behind and confused by 'pronouns'...

Every talk I give, know who the most outspoken trans allies are? Queer folk in their 70s!!

You can either go via the search page or it's at the end of Season 9 in the classic Who listings.
For my fellow Whovians, if you’re trying to watch the special, re-edited version of #DoctorWho and The Sea Devils this morning, it looks like you have to search for it on iPlayer. I typed in “The Sea Devils” on the Search page. I hope you enjoy. 🐟

Avery Mann, 40, who was asked to give “a few examples” about their autistic traits, started with a handful of relevant anecdotes but felt they didn’t want to leave anything out – “just in case that’s the thing that diagnoses me.”
“What if I’m not autistic?” asks person handing assessor 91-page dissertation about life
An autistic person is anxious that they won’t receive a formal diagnosis at their upcoming autism assessment - despite providing the psychologist with a folder the size of Tolstoy's War and Peace. …

“Why is the gender or the autism relevant?”

I don’t know. Which categories of people might be uniquely prone to being taken advantage of, having to work 10x as hard to prove themselves, having people-pleasing / fawning trauma responses & being systemically undervalued? Hmmm…

Protip for good white people: there IS a answer when asked “are you racist?”

You simply say: “being born and raised in white supremacy means all of us hold and racialised worldviews. But I am learning about racism and working on changing my worldview and myself.”

Every time I mention a minor health issue I get a ton of people saying "look after yourself", which *would* make me feel happy except there's always one arsehole who says "If you die, who's going to take over your podcast?"

All of this is fascism. And not early stage either. This is the embedding of the Right Wing Daily Mail press consensus as the absolutely unshakable common sense of the UK state. Made possible because the "left wing" party has abdicated any kind of moral position on it.
this is really grim

Starmer's Labour is worse than the Tories because there isn't a Labour party waiting in the wings, unless we see some astonishing magic from the Greens. People rejected the Tories and Labour came in to tell them, no, that's not allowed, this is the only policy there is. Fuck you.
