This doesn't pass the sniff test because another Mandelson associated op was based out of Streeting's constituency, and its latest incarnation has a close associate of Streeting as a director

Look at this cute new milkshake duck, trying to save Democrats from their excesses.
Update: we regret to inform you that the milkshake duck is a registered lobbyist for OpenAI.

Friendly lobby journalists who were in Labour Students easily impressed by obvious sociopath that they are mates with.
How extraordinarily fortunate for Wes Streeting that the only text messages he sent Peter Mandelson just happened to be exactly the sort of things other Labour MPs want to hear from a potential leadership candidate

Like, the difference between Westminster & other workplaces isn’t that the people hate each other, it’s that if you want to explain why you hate your colleagues you can just text a journalist and then they’ll print it anonymously in the newspaper.

the problem is that it is perfectly normal in british journalism to let people talk shit anonymously and make any claims whatsoever

Yes, I take that NYT article about libertarians warning ppl about Trump personally. I was there. I saw it happen. Some libertarians did. Many did not, and mocked and fired those who did. Including the author of that goddamn article.

Wes is such a great media performer he thought a good way to introduce hinself as a future PM was to take a friendly FT journalist to Israel. It's like its pilled tech bros are the only selectorate who matters
It’d be more accurate to say Starmer was elected by lying like fuck to audience after audience about his intentions, and it looks very much like a big chunk of the press were very well aware that he was lying and declined to inform the public. In that sense, yes, Streeting is the natural successor.

“The new government forgot they were supposed to have ideas about governing” strikes me as a fairly major drawback that reflects quite badly on a lot of people.

Just in case you think this is remotely credible, no parliament can bind a future parliament and if Starmer didn't want to be blamed for the Online Safety Act and its impacts he could simply have repealed it.

When I worked for Reason magazine during Trump's rise to power in 2016, I was explicitly forbidden by the editor in chief from writing about Trump's racism, or the violence and racism at his rallies.

It was a "sideshow," I was told.
Weird. I tried to warn libertarians about Trump

Keir Starmer's spokesman won't say why his Comms Director Tim Allan resigned, when Starmer first knew he was resigning, or whether he asked him to step down.

Also won't say whether evidence has been found suggesting an ongoing relationship between Allan and Mandelson
