She wrote a global history of concentration camps. Now she has a warning for her own country.

In a better world, Andrea Pitzer would be delivering this warning on 60 Minutes.

But you need to listen to how we can stop these systematic atrocities being committed in our name on Next Comes What.
What do you call warehouses full of humans?

After two weeks of negotiations, it’s clear the Trump administration and Republicans are not serious about reining in this goon-squad violence against American citizens.

NEW: In Iowa, when someone's charges are *dismissed,* they still had to pay court fees. So prosecutors pressured ppl into pleading guilty: 'plead guilty, you'll have no fees. (If you win, you'll owe $$.)'

Iowa's Supreme Court struck that down in January... but prosecutors want to bring it all back:
In Iowa, Prosecutors Want to Bring Back Court Fees as Bargaining Chips - Bolts
Iowa's high court recently ended the practice of making defendants pay fees for charges that get dismissed. Prosecutors are backing legislation to undo the court’s ruling so they can keep using fees a...

It is so inspiring here in Michigan, and I'm praying Democrats can see two steps ahead and generally get on the right side of this now, for a change.

At midnight as Saturday begins, annual funding provided in the DHS bill will lapse, leading to a “DHS-only” shutdown. What that means in reality is complicated. Short 🧵

tl;dr is ICE/CBP continue w/ pay, FEMA largely continues bcuz it has tons of money still usable, TSA continues w/ pay for a bit

One of the things I was most surprised to learn about Hitler recently is that his "success" was entirely built on bumbling from failure to failure and declaring victory every time.

"It was always the case that the sheer volume of outright kidnappings — the snatching of people with legal status — would create a flood of cases that would overwhelm Minnesota’s Federal judiciary, both the US Attorney’s Office and the courts."

Protest volume is escalating. Jan 2026 recorded the highest monthly total of protests during Trump’s second term so far (nearly 5900)—and the 3rd highest total of protests per month since 2017, behind only June 2020 (BLM) & March 2018 (Enough Walkouts + March for Our Lives).

Someone ask the "Based" senior Senator from Utah why ICE shouldn't surround gun shops.
If ICE still stands for "Immigration and Customs Enforcement" then why do Republicans want them anywhere near a polling location?
Because lawless ICE goons are harassing, arresting, and murdering people who are citizens, you idiot.

One thing that bothers me is that the Epstein Files are kind of a trick. Now we are going to be forever searching, forever looking for the smoking gun.

As if the purported “President” declaring war on a state (Minnesota) based on a fabricated pretext, for no reason, isn’t enough to justify removal.
