I just don’t know what’s wrong with these men, to feel like these are fulfilling relationships

I’m 40, if I tried to date a 20 year old and had to sit next to them on the couch while they scrolled through TikTok and said things like, “that’s lowkey fire” I would literally pass away

Really ties all the threads together, this one
Andrew Johnson — a Jan. 6 rioter who went by "Am🇺🇸rican T🇺🇸rrorist” on Elon Musk’s platform — has been arrested on child molestation charges, with police saying he used the promise of a taxpayer-funded payout from Trump's DOJ to try and keep one of the victims silent.

I love this idea:

“anytime a billionaire is asked for public comment on anything, someone with < $1,000 in the bank should get equal time to offer a rebuttal.”
In this week's newsletter I wrote about losing a parent (to bad politics) and good tv shows and the billionaires who pretend they're going to leave a city if their taxes go up by an amount that will never make their lives worse.

At @mississippifreepress.org we don’t collaborate with anyone who condescends to Mississippians, either on our staff or not.

Because we’re smart, know our state and we have fight in us, especially when condescended to. We’ve been doing this 23 years in our home state and are here for the long game.
We make these decisions continually about “healthy collaborations”: must not condescend to us or about Mississippians; be equal partners/voices; interrogate systems; ethical track record; not just here to grow clicks and brand; respectful interactions (I have stories); no parachuting to win awards.
Really a devastating indictment of the @nytimes.com when high-quality regional journalists won't collaborate with them because they fear it would call their integrity into question.

We should not overthink this.

a big runoff last night, in New Orleans:

Calvin Duncan was exonerated after spending *28 years* in prison; he tried to get his own case records from the New Orleans city clerk—but the office dragged its feet.

So Duncan ran to become city clerk himself, and yesterday ousted the incumbent.
