I am someone who was literally bankrupted by medical debt in the States but now lives in Canada. I’m pretty familiar with the insanity of the US health care system.
And it’s not all villains! It’s doctors. It’s pink collar women of colour who work in the system as it exists!

There’s this weird reluctance to say “this is good and we should do it” about a lot of stuff, and the dodge that it’s up to Economics as it Economics is Physics is pathetic. Do the right fucking thing!
The point of universal coverage isn’t cost savings because it simply isn’t a thing that matters. And universal coverage will consume as much money as the public fisc decides to spend. It is not the case that single payer means “no triage”; it just is a different answer to “who triages”.

Home Alone makes changes to the Die Hard formula that render it hard for me to enjoy. The McClain character should feel overawed. And in theory having Kevin be a child versus adults achieves that. But the thing is: Kevin is a god. It's not just Tom & Jerry. This is some random punks versus Anansi.
