I also think that there’s a way in which the drive for legibility has squeezed all the excess capacity out of systems making them not merely more inequitable but also extremely brittle. Superfluity is flexibility, efficiency is fragile, we saw this in a shocking way in the pandemic.

yeah there’s a way to say our demands are reasonable and even conservative without sounding like supplicants but imo some D leaders think “don’t sound radical” means “sound weak”

The fact that Bad Bunny's halftime show made white bigots angry and feel excluded is A GOOD THING. It's one of the best things about it. It's not a problem to solve. It's a solution to pursue. Bigots *should* feel excluded. We should find *more* ways to celebrate the reality of USian diversity.
