i saw a post about how 'the national guardsmen didn't sign up to be cops' and like sure that's technically true. they signed up to do war crimes and murder brown people with impunity. sorry i refuse to feel bad if they are sad or some of them get shot because they got the fascism they wanted.

Not for nothing, but it occurred to me that boomers love to excuse the racism they witnessed in their parents by saying “you have to understand it was a different time” in order to mitigate their own unexamined racism. Don’t give them a pass when you hear that. Call them out. Tell them to do better.
