The last general strike in Minneapolis was in 1934.
It started in May, leading to a series of small battles between strikers and police. The two sides agreed to a contract on May 25.
Employers reneged in July, and police opened fire on protesters who flooded the streets. Two died, 67 were wounded.

What we are asking if you live in NYC is that you not passively sit back and expect that things will "happen" or "change" but to be actively involved in making things happen and to change them. Do the very small thing of sending a letter to your Council member & CALL THEM. It's really easy to do.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it doesn't seem ideal that we're going to have to create a network to smuggle drawings and letters our of our national network of punitive detention camps and keep them anonymous so that the authorities can't retaliate against children.
My guess is that the goal here is not only to punish the children for turning more people against ICE/DHS, but also to make news outlets think twice about reporting on kids' suffering at the hands of ICE/DHS, out of concern that doing so might lead to retaliation against the kids.
ProPublica published children's letters and drawings documenting their sadness and suffering at Dilley. And Dilley staff are now retaliating by confiscating kids' letters and drawings.

The lasting way to fight fascism—and the thing each of us can do—is to liberate your mind from the fascist framework. Stop being frightened of the things that fascists say are frightening. Start looking at those things as liberation. Fear the things fascists say make us safe. See them as prisons.

It took until the late 90s for a majority of Americans to approve of interracial marriage. The “popularists” like Jain or Yglesias would have counseled Democrats to never bring it up because it wasn’t “popular,” the way they’re doing today with trans personhood. It is substantively, morally wrong.
