This is one way I’ve been thinking about the market outlook this year (some narrative tailwinds early that shift to headwinds around spring), and Claude did a pretty decent job of turning it into a visual:
The 52-week low is around $77k, the #$MSTR average cost basis is around $76k, so this feels like an interesting level:

It’s not enough to have passport-only voting — to protect against voter fraud we must only conduct elections on Saturdays in January.

Just watched Freaky Friday with the family and hot take, it rocks.

Ah well, nevertheless
Trump promised "some of the most aggressive housing reform plans" in US history. Six weeks later, none of the policies floated by his administration have gained traction.
Trump’s Plan to Make Housing Affordable Is Faltering
President Donald Trump’s bid to put home ownership in reach for more Americans is sputtering, just weeks after it launched.

I guess all these conversations happen in Signal chats now so there will never be a huge compendium of emails ever again.

There’s a corollary to this whole deal to the Catholic Church scandal, similar yet different as one is more about institutional protectionism vs whatever this is

IPO watch is really interesting because it’s collision of group of people who only believe in ”yes” as acceptable feedback and minimal risk management discipline (musk, tech, VCs) and the least reliable market messengers: ECM/IBs pitching IPOs

I’m always ride or die with @skandaamarnath.bsky.social, but I thought his Odd Lots episode on Warsh yesterday was particularly good.

People are really bringing their A-game today.
File under “One problem with catching falling knives may be the Sharp Ratio.”
Market internals are incredibly poor considering we are less than 1% away from all-time index highs and VIX at 17. Massive round-tripping earnings volatility, huge dollar moves, dispersion creeping up in megacaps, giant leveraged unwinds in metals on no news.

@carlquintanilla.bsky.social $KO at a 52-week high...

The close feels like it could be pretty eventful, Friday/month-end too.

Been saying for a few weeks that nothing really matters until memory stocks and silver broke their momentum and we now have one of those boxes checked anyway.

So the tariffs are bad for Ag and the Fed pick is bad for Ag?
January 30, 2026 at 6:23 PM
I don't think about this stuff much, so feedback welcome. But if $AGQ has $5.2 billion of assets then it came into today with $10.4 billion of silver (2x leverage), and if it's down 60% (to ~$2 billion), then it has to sell ~$6 billion of silver by the close to square up for Monday. @peark.es
