This is an important one in a different way. If you can, please let's make sure the people who truly belong to and on this land have support as they fight the DHS and ICE in this beautiful way.

After yesterday’s crash in Saint Paul, it’s imperative we keep our roads safe for our neighbors. Write to Minneapolis
leaders and let them know that we demand temporary traffic calming to protect us from these federal goons.

Tell Minneapolis: SLOW DOWN ICE on our streets!
Join us in telling the City to implement official anti-ICE traffic calming, or support grassroots filter blockades so they can operate safely!

I want to live in a world where those people don't dare open their mouths because they'll never be able to show their faces in society again. And they need a recurring burn cream subscription for all the retorts they get when they try it.

I'll just keep yelling at them in the street I guess

You need to make the people in your life understand the only way you give them the time of day is if they never let you know their true thoughts. They need to be afraid to make these comments around you because of the firestorm you will raise in response. We do not tolerate this from anyone anywhere

This happens ONCE. And if you don't shut it down, correct it, and refuse to give this filth even an ounce of legitimacy, then you're the problem. People need to know this shit is disgusting. And people also need to know which side you're on - being a decent fucking person or a Nazi. No in-between.
Hanging out with white people means you'll often, without prompting, casually get told horrible shit, like how "there's n-words in all races actually" or how "no woman is biologically stronger than a man, so transwomen shouldn't be in women's sports" or how it's fine for ICE to go after "illegals"
Multiple people in the chats this morning confessing their sin, unsolicited, of only wanting to reform ICE. Startling to see how the psychological impact works so well, so fast, after this morning’s presser.

"Yah sure" (skeptical)
The Minnesota state motto is officially now “We’ll Believe It When We See It.”
I don’t make the rules.

I think I just misread your tone, sorry. My fault! We're all on the same side here -- the one Amy is too useless or cowardly to understand.

Appreciate you!

Verbal assault isn't assault, you losers.
Now: US Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott tells congress the reason Border Patrol "surged a bunch of resources into Minneapolis" was because “ICE couldn’t go do arrests without being violently assaulted”.

Listen, “ICE out of Minnesota” is treating a symptom, not the disease.

Still desperately needs to happen, but we’re not out of this fight until those fuckers stop existing entirely.

Yes I know that. I was making a joke about how she in no way has contributed to helping anyone at all in this situation and has not once used her power or her office to fight for us. We are doing the work she is taking the credit for

I think that's a generous interpretation but Klobs as a scared deer is viscerally funny

I mean, you did squat, but okay
Minnesotans stood together, stared down ICE, and never blinked.

Yeah their definition of "inciting" is "politely telling someone to stop or do it more politely."

"Yes sir, here in Minnesota the women are strong, the men are good looking, non binary folks are rocking their outfits, the elders are loud, and the children are above average. We like our queers proud, our women uppity, and our protesters fear no temperature. Fucking bring it."

RON JOHNSON: Are you aware of training for activists, Mr Ellison?

KEITH ELLISON: Yeah I'm aware. It's common for people to use their First Amendment rights, sir

I heard about a killing of a Black man in DC by US marshals on a call from someone in the neighborhood then saw it confirmed by the organization @harrietsdreams.bsky.social & here. A Black man in DC was killed by the state today. Make the same noise for him as for anyone else when we have his name.

Thank you so, so much. I deeply appreciate the offer. I think we all have a lot of grief and rage built up and we might be working through it for all our days. I'm so grateful we've got each other for all this

This is an incredibly important thread. Other lawyerly folks I know have been saying similar (and sometimes even more horrifying) things. This is straight-up war crime territory, and it’s happening all around the USA. It will come for you if you allow it to continue.

Burn ICE to the ground.
I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it.

I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.”

Thank you. Sending hugs back.

At least we all have each other in this. There's no community in the world I'd rather be with. We are all we have, but we are so so much.

Even when we feel awful.

I don't really have anything else to say. It's just too much. Too much for one person, one lifetime, one city, one state. And still the worst is not remotely happening to me.

If I'll be carrying this for the rest of my life, imagine the horrors others will carry.

All we have left is love and hope.

I broke down today. The dam just shattered. I cried past when I couldn't breathe, broke blood vessels under my eyes. I haven't sobbed like that since the night I thought my wife would die.

It's been hours and the tears keep surprising me. At this rate I feel like I might never stop.

This is real.
