perfection is not a prerequisite for love.

I am allowed to be both a masterpiece and a work in progress.

masterpieces and works in progress each deserve love.

I am worth loving at every point on that path.
If I super cared about people seeing my attempts to draw bunnies and boxes and do fiber things without them having to suffer the unfortunate distractions of my personality, I'd make a separate account for that. But I'm like 90% personality with an occasional "I hate these boxes" thread
General question for discussion: How do you guys feel about artists that talk a lot in-between posting art, even if not directly art related? Inocuous posts, interests, etc.

Today there was one ICE deportation flight out of Minneapolis - St. Paul International, the 28th here this month.

We counted 33 deportees boarding, bringing the estimated total for MSP this January to 1,863.

This flight, like most of the rest this month, went to El Paso, TX.

If someone says this shit to you, you should disregard them fucking entirely.

Whistles and honking work so well in part because even without training or speaking one another's languages, they imply Something Is Wrong wordlessly
the dominant "rapid response" group in DC is deliberately discouraging the use of whistles and offering no alternative system to alert people who are in immediate danger. wrecker behavior at best, at worst infiltration.

If he didn't want "too much media attention on ICE" then maybe he shouldn't have sent 4,000 ICE agents to brutalize a state who didn't want them there and only wants them to leave us in peace. If he wants less attention on ICE, tell them to stand down. And leave.
Minnesota, home to the worst murderers and criminals in the world.

if everything they said was true, their actions would still be unjust.

but of course nothing they say is true.

Another person taken today from the quarry, leaving a wife and a young baby without support.

If you are vulnerable or at risk, please stay away from the quarry. Target and Home Depot parking lots have been staging sites for ICE with lots of activity.

Stay safe and stay vigilant.

It's so cold that Almond (fluffy tortie terrorist) has crawled under the covers to lay next to my butt.

That or she's just decided to be a weirdo. I do not know.

(She's very soft though)

Fun fact, January in Minnesota is, on average, 5 degrees colder (Fahrenheit) than Stalingrad (now called Volgograd).

We are living through a time that some folks will attempt to misremember. They will rewrite, erase, water-down, placate, and pander. They will gaslight us.

We have to refuse that. We have to remember.

Our memory is resistance. Our rage is resistance.

I wasn't sure if I'd text my grandma (in Ohio) to tell her about ICE. But I did today. About 300 words. The last ones were, "It's horrible."

Her response: "It sounds like it. You and [Partner] stay safe."

Sigh.

hopefully bluesky users generally understand to give people in MN who are busy protecting their community a little space right now and not to tut-tut them on how they're choosing to talk about it. hopefully

Yo--Minneapolis and St. Paul feed update from Ian. If you've filled out the google form, now is the time to take the 2nd step and actually add yourself to the feed.
Currently doing MSP feed maintenance and going over the whole of the membership list, which means a lot of people are about to be added and a few of you who snuck in and live too far away are about to be removed. If you are removed and disagree with that decision, feel free to DM and plead your case

Okay, I gotta take a break from this app. Maybe today, maybe a few days, idk.
