I queue up Chicago images and footage on days when I am multitasking or just burned out. If Trump has ordered tanks to roll over peaceful demonstrators in Los Angeles or anywhere else, my Chicago posts aren't some kind of passive aggressive message.

A couple years ago I worked on 12 grants in my role as a task force director at the Library of Congress. This year, zero. We are going to lose a lot of our public memory. Which is at the crux of fascistic mobilization.

every single week they're throwing this guy a special oval office love-in that appears to be the presidential equivalent of letting your dog scarf an entire big mac and fries before that last trip to the vet
Pirro: "Mr President, there is in this room a group of people who love you, who believe in you, and who are so proud to be in this Oval Office and to be part of this amazing day because you have changed the course of America."

@bebopott.bsky.social will love this -- looking for something else, I found that Citizens for Judy Baar Topinka is still active -- they filed paperwork for 3rd quarter 2025. Judy's been dead for more than a decade. Her campaign fund has $400,000 in it. They're only expense? Keeping a PO box.

And to think that half of these guys were down on their luck last year, having been fired for pleasuring themselves over Ozempic YouTube ads in the parking lots of dead malls. Now, with safety in numbers, they are visiting the Bean for free.

How to become a professional communist agitator in three easy steps:
1) Get a master's degree in divinity from Princeton University.
2) Con the Presbyterian Church into hiring you as a pastor.
3) Fake doing pastor stuff while secretly plotting to set up a dictatorship of the proletariat.

Roger Marshall owned a hospital. Patients he couldn't make money off of were referred to the very good nonprofit in the same town. Then the nonprofit went bankrupt and he ran for office to get a bailout when his hospital almost collapsed from picking up those patients.
My wife and I pay for life insurance even though we have never died. I pay for fire insurance even though my house has never burned down. That's not because we want to throw money at insurance companies. It's because THAT'S HOW INSURANCE WORKS.

In 1893 Chicago police arrested a man for murder, starved him for four days, then gave him a bottle of whiskey. Once he was drunk they gave him an “alibi” form to sign. He was drunk and illiterate & didn’t know he was signing a confession. He was hanged. This is pretty much how Broadview operates.

The Democrats won several VA House seats where winning looked like a pipe dream going into the election. The Dems won these seats because they recruited candidates and actually campaigned. Important lesson for 26--the electorate is pissed--but you can only win when you run. Run everywhere!
Democrats contested all 100 Virginia House of Delegates races. Part of the party’s statewide success is due to the synergies between the legislative and statewide campaigns—even the losing ones. This is a big reason why Jay Jones won comfortably. This is a model the Dems should emulate everywhere
