A good read, and I particularly would like to highlight this, which I hadn't seen before.
Interesting - I just noticed that "Save Draft" only seems to be an option on new posts, not replies.

According to Illinois Sunshine, the Corey Oliver mentioned here also co-chairs the Neighborhood Building Owners Alliance PAC. They’ve written checks to:

-James O’Brien, who is running for HD-13
-Paul Kendrick, who is running for HD-12
-Patrick Hynes, who is running for county assessor
Federal agents carried out a military-style raid on a South Shore apartment complex last fall with the permission of the building’s owner and manager, according to new court filings that corroborate key allegations driving a state investigation.

Attention Chicagoans: this thread details local politicians who have received funds from the landlords who approved that horrific early morning ICE raid on a South Shore apartment complex
IL Sunshine shows that they have transferred funds to James ($500), Paul Kendrick ($500, reportedly returned it), Sam Nugent, RayLo’s Democratic Party committee, and Nick Sposato since the DHS raid on 9/30 illinoissunshine.org/committees/3...

Chicago cannot afford the Chicago Police Department. 🧵
Taxpayers should pay $29.1M to 4 men who spent a combined 71 years in prison after they were framed by a disgraced ex-CPD detective for separate murders between 1991 & 1997, city lawyers recommended.

The city spent $5.2M to fight those lawsuits.

Here are their stories, for @wttw.bsky.social:

This is why domestic "shuffle" flights between ICE detention centers have skyrocketed, much moreso than ICE deportation flights.

When you are moved to a different jurisdiction, you have to refile your habeas petition all over again. They want to wear people down so they'll give up on their cases.

I've seen multiple videos TODAY of secret police asking people that.
GOLDMAN: What guidance have you given your agents about asking people to show proof of citizenship?

LYONS: We don't do that

G: Really? So all of those individual citizens who have been randomly asked are lying?

LYONS: If ICE is conducting an investigation, they'll ask someone their nationality

FACT CHECK
✅ 20M criminals DID NOT invade the United States during the Biden years. This long time Trump talking point has exploded throughout MAGA but it is. not. true.

1. Thomas Massey, Republican from Kentucky, just did an interview where he said, on camera, that the director of the FBI threatened to investigate one of his staffers for fraud if Massey did not stop pushing for the disclosure of the Epstein files.

If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little real oversight. www.ajc.com/politics/202...
