Places to sit on Nicollet Mall: 1. Peavey Plaza, lots of concrete 'benches", a few metal chairs, and the blue Adirondack chairs. One of my fave spots in the city.
This video, and the MN GOP's direction, is directly related to freeze on federal funding for childcare in MN. It's disgusting; and it has led to a funding freeze that will only hurt children.
Demuth: GOP caucus directed YouTuber to Minnesota. A professor explains why it went viral
University of Minnesota media law professor Jane Kirtley says the new viral video is flashy, but absent of facts to back up its claims — and its lack of transparency could be considered deceptive.

freezing this funding hurts children, parents, and providers. it's cruel and it is a direct response to that nick Shirley vid. absolute bullshit.
BREAKING

The Trump administration says it has frozen all childcare payments to Minnesota in the aftermath of allegations of fraud by some in the Somali community.

Important: allegations along these lines have existed for years, which has resulted in prosecutions starting with the Biden DOJ.

"you look like you could fuck this bar up with a harmonica." when i was at a bar by myself in washington dc; some random guy said it to me.
Forget insults, what’s the most unhinged *compliment* you’ve ever received?

pretty sure the pizza luce driver heard me singing Baby Shark at the top of my lungs as I came downstairs for my food; and that's how i'm doing in this liminal time between christmas and new years.

Even I, with no children, know that you cannot just roll up on a childcare center and ask to be let in and see the kids. If you are stupid enough to give Nick Shirley _any_ credence, I am shocked that you're able to function as an adult.
uhhh yeah I can see why these childcare properties weren't eager to let in some rando dudes asking "where are the kids?"

It's the worst fanfiction I've ever read, man. I don't even know what tags this would get on Ao3. 'weird white man'? 'd/s but make it faux-science'?
I am begging everyone on here to read this new post by Bryan Johnson — the super rich tech guy who is now doing the “never die” protocol.

I need to talk about it with you all.

Lesson Learned: always have working spare batteries in your home, not just the ziploc baggie full of dead batteries.

got on this 14 and there's a _robust_ discussion of what happens when a person dies, like maybe their spirits are living with all the other spirits, and wow, there's that grief, whew. ##busride

Biking to all the new-to-me places this summer! Oh, and biking to a very quiet part of Theo Wirth, eating pb&j and falling asleep in the sun. Truly wonderful.
I need some positivity. Quote or reply with your favorite bike memory of 2025. It can be a great ride, an advocacy accomplishment, whatever. Let's celebrate bikes.

My personal favorite was finally doing a bikepacking ride up to Portland, Maine! It has me excited for bigger adventures in 2026.

it's so much easier to refill my cat's long-term medication than mine and this feels unfair.

"And I never say no"

We need to have a serious talk about the way "AI companion" apps not only prey on the vulnerable, but are priming their users to ignore consent and to conflate love with control.

We need AI regulations across so many sectors, but this area is particularly horrifying.

I remember her, personally, for her kindness and how she reached out to me. And publicly, her powerful leadership at the Capitol and for MN. Sen. Dziedzic was pretty great. We lost good women, good leaders this year. AND so many stepped into their _own_ too and that has been beautiful to witness.
Today we hope you will join us in remembering former Senate Majority Leader Kari Dziedzic, who we lost one year ago today. She was known for her tireless work ethic, quick wit, and unyielding kindness. She was driven by service, not the spotlight.

John with the NE Ohio Regional Sewer District is simply the best. You really need to call the number.
this time of year brings a mix of emotions, i know.

i hope this season, whatever you celebrate or may be struggling through, brings you a bit of peace somewhere.

this may be a message for you. maybe just give it a call.
