WCCO looks at one day's worth of petitions for release filed by those arrested during ICE surge. Majority with no criminal record. People were picked up on the way to get prescriptions, going to work, and showing up for scheduled immigration check ins.

How Trump's withdrawal from Minneapolis is being covered abroad.

In Le Monde, the lead French daily, the homepage article starts with:

"Two people dead, thousands arrested, two cities shaken, and Donald Trump defeated."

This is the second account - the first being in Chicago - of DHS agents mass detaining people and then *sorting them by race*.
More than 400 people, including hundreds of citizens, were “sorted” at gun point into racial and ethnic groups by 200 ICE agents who fired flash-bang grenades into cars with people inside, pointed guns at children & demanded their zip tied parents not comfort them. apple.news/Ausdx6kWtT0e...

Stories about what ICE's presence in Minnesota has done to kids — something I'm seeing firsthand — are hard to read. It's unfathomable that kids have to go through this. www.startribune.com/ice-children...

Court battle over surveillance footage at the Broadview ICE detention center reaches new levels of kafkaesque absurdity: The DOJ claimed it *couldn't afford* hard drives to put video footage on. Plaintiffs bought THE US GOVERNMENT hard drives. ICE "lost" them.

This is 18-mo-old Amalia waving to me when she was detained.

She was hospitalized with a respiratory infection while at ICE’s Dilley facility for immigrant families.

She’s one of dozens of detainees who I spoke to via video and phone calls, letters and an in-person visit. 🧵1/

I live in Minnesota and I care about mental health.

Here's what's happening now because of ICE:

- Lots of people who never struggled with depression and anxiety disorders are now.

- People already dealing with severe mental illness are at much higher risk of suicide or disappearing from care.

Ricky was assaulted by ICE tonight for merely standing on public property.
Tonight at 8:30 PM our constituent Ricky was pepper sprayed by ICE on 18th & Polk. 2 agents parked their car, got out and approached observers, started pepper spraying Ricky on public property, and then drove away and left.

Nothing is changing on the ground in Minnesota. ICE must be abolished.
