Psychologists should figure out how much wealth a person can have before they have thought patterns that are indistinguishable from the brain damage one gets after getting kicked in the head by a horse.

Whatever dollar amount that is, that's the most amount of money anyone should be able to have

Is there any question that is more annoying to read close to 20 years after they started making these damn movies?
Is there any franchise that's made more money and had less impact on wider culture than Avatar?
Looks like Avatar's got a good shot at a $2 billion total globally when all is said and done. It's arguably a more bankable franchise than the Avengers at this point.

we just did this in Massachusetts

they’re not gonna leave, they’ll whine and bitch and moan and eventually this will raise more money than expected because nowhere they go is actually like the place they’re leaving
Billionaires are considering cutting or reducing their ties to California by the end of the year because of a proposed ballot measure that could tax the state’s wealthiest residents.
A Wealth Tax Floated in California Has Billionaires Thinking of Leaving
It’s uncertain whether the proposal will reach the statewide ballot in November, but some billionaires like Peter Thiel and Larry Page may be unwilling to take the risk.

They won’t leave. But the fact they moan about shows the level of their greed. They couldn’t spend their money, minus the taxes, in multiple lifetimes.

Frankly, I have always wondered why more campaigns didn't do this. Constituent services are such an important part of good politics.
🧵 Our mutual aid hub has been a HUGE draw for our immense volunteer base, many of whom have never wanted to be involved politics before now.

This model isn’t just about the immediate impacts: It’s about showing our values, building a community, and reaching voters — without selling our soul!
Turning campaigns into mutual aid hubs isn’t good for campaigns or mutual aid! Your campaign manager should be entirely too busy to schlep around 5600 tampons!

Triumph’s of liberal architecture are just taken for granted as existing that way by default. Liberalism delivered everything from the neo-classical and greek revivals up to the most modern buildings. The unifying substrate of liberal architecture is informed taste.
It's easy to dunk on liberals with something like 'why can't liberalism build anything as interesting as Soviet towers or Mussolini's monuments' but the more interesting question is the opposite, why does everyone with strong opinions on monumental architecture turn out to be politically insane.

No they won't.

They already tried moving to Texas and they hated it so much that they started leaving after about 2-3 years.

Every time billionaires say they’re gonna leave if you raise their taxes, outlets like the Times credulously regurgitate the propaganda. Meanwhile they don’t move cause these guys WANT to live in California and Manhattan and not Podunk and Bumfuck where the taxes are nonexistent.
