When did playing sports become so performative? When did going to the gym become so performative? When did jogging become so performative? And listening to music, and cooking, and thinking, and dreaming, and standing still and dying…and so on.

I absolutely love this book. Intense, timely, intelligent, romantic. Like a Raymond Chandler yarn for the #metoo era.

I'm embarrassed on a number of levels; for Musk, as usual, and for all of mankind, for giving this bozo unlimited wealth and power.

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot is one of my favourite films, but I can't picture Reynolds as either Thunderbolt or Lightfoot. (Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges played the original roles.)
I'd cast Dwayne Johnson and Tim Chalamet, since you're asking.
