This article abt the budget dance (cutting&restoring funding, ad infinitum) in re:NYC libraries & the disappointment w/ Mandani for failing to live up to his budget promise is great. I particularly love this paragraph which is in line w/ the truth that libraries wouldn’t pass in today’s congress

I hope New Yorkers will challenge Mamdani about this. Too often, people feel they need to be absolutely for or against a politician — ignoring their missteps or throwing them out with the bathwater. You can like and/or believe in someone and still challenge them to deliver on their promises.

I heard Julie K Brown say that she does not believe that Epstein killed himself in jail. I initially believed he had because jails are deathmaking institutions. Now with additional information, I am not convinced.
