How a Travel YouTuber Captured Nepal’s Revolution for the World
Harry Jackson went into Kathmandu as a tourist. He ended up being one of the main international sources of news on Nepal’s Gen Z protests.

If you saw footage of Nepal's protests this month, it's a fair chance you saw it from WeHateTheCold, a British travel vlogger who stumbled into the revolution and started filming. I spoke to him about it for @wired.com www.wired.com/story/how-a-...

The chief and cops that continue to shoot journalists and interfere with our work need to be held in contempt.
From the horse’s mouth, the LAPD does not want to follow the federal injunction handed down to them.

LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell released a statement about the dept’s opposition to the injunction that protects journalists at protests. Their biggest hang-up is not being able to freely use less-lethals on people to “de-escalate” protests.

Children are always leaving their jobs, as are seniors, disabled folks, and um people who continue to work for places like Walmart and McDonald’s but can’t afford to feed their families
Trump claims that food stamps "puts the country in jeopardy. People that are able-bodied can do a job, they leave their job because they figure they can pick this up, it's easier."

The right has means tested food aid for years and imposed work requirements for years and yet act as if none exist.

You are 61, you have had a heart bypass, a knee replacement. Here's $2000. Get negotiating.
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

I try not to be a doomer and this is not meant to be doomer posting but the fact that this sort of thing continues unabated, they're set to get a surge of cash and our representatives cant/won't dont anything about it is bleak. And the best case scenario is 14 months out. Doesn't solve anything now.

It’s important to achieve bipartisanship with Republicans so they can arrest Barack Obama for something they read on the Epoch Times’ Facebook page written by a Chinese cult member in 2019.
Breaking MSNBC:
The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida called a division-wide meeting this afternoon, following the resignations of two prosecutors who were asked to take part in a vast "conspiracy" investigation into former intel and law enforcement officials.

This hidden provision is so crooked and selfish, it doesn't even apply to US Representatives. Just US Senators.
Look at this new outrage. To open govt, we're retroactively letting 8 Senators sue for $500K each over having had their J6 phone toll records looked at. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/10/u...

The national level Democratic Party sold out everyone of these people and the state governments who represent them.
We followed a court order and worked quickly to make sure that nearly 700,000 Wisconsinites who rely on FoodShare, including about 270,000 kids, had food to eat.
Now, President Trump wants to yank that money away from hungry kids, families, and seniors in Wisconsin? Hell no.

Buried inside the deal to reopen government is a provision that would give Senators private right of action to sue for millions in damages over their phone records being analyzed by Jack Smith's team.

Why is the "we must be united!" hectoring directed at people who are mad at the Cavers and not to the Cavers? Everyone who's mad was united, then the Cave Caucus walked across the aisle and betrayed what the public had been told was the Dem position.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

I'm not an Alan Moore purist and I actually quite like the film adaptation (two minor quibbles aside). I could see this working although I have to say the film has aged very well and works better now than it did when it was released. Also hard to top Hugo Weaving and Stephen Rea's performances
A ‘V FOR VENDETTA’ series is in the works at HBO.
Pete Jackson is attached to write the series with James Gunn and Peter Safran of DC Studios as executive producers.

Every week I learn about a new downside to data centers and AI that I hadn't even considered and I get more and more confused that we've bet the economy on this garbage.
Part of it is that frozen delivery is so fucking expensive ever since CDLs doubled in value, and frozen warehouses are competing with server farms/data centers for power now lol

Tim Kaine is probably the most prominent elected official talking about the very real threat and struggle of long COVID and he just consigned millions to being screwed with ACA subsidies expiring.
Sen. Kaine on his vote for funding deal
“I got the first good night's sleep last night that I've gotten since Oct. 1, because I wasn't worried about being able to look Capitol Police in the eye when I walked in, or what a furloughed federal worker would say to me at church”
