obviously you only sell almost $6 billion in stock when you're certain a company is going to get even more valuable
Japanese giant SoftBank said Tuesday it has sold its entire stake in tech giant Nvidia for $5.83 billion.

This pisses me off, man, seriously.

Ive watched his cops run up to a line and swing batons like baseball bats at the heads of protesters sitting on the sidewalk. Watched them trample protesters and press on horses. An LAPD cop *ran over* a protester past month. Highly trained? Don’t make me laugh
Missing from this statement is it is LAPD who often escalate these events into violence. “Highly trained” officers my ass

More like bullies with riot guns

Fuck it I’m writing about this tomorrow

I have extremely LOUD thoughts about this
LAPD Chief Slams Judge Over Press-Force Ban
LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell says a judge’s ban on using force against the press makes it harder for officers to control violent protests.

Well, deciding to break the line y'all were holding in exchange for empty promises is not the best way to do a high stakes battle against a corrupt and malevolent foe, but what do I know
No one’s feelings are wrong. That’s not my point. We’re in a real battle, against a corrupt and malevolent foe, with huge stakes. We must win.

Heyo! I have just arrived in front of Zellerbach Hall at the University of California, #Berkeley where hundreds of people have gathered to protest Turning Point USA's final your stop tonight.

An arrest of some sort is happening it appears. No idea why. The crowd is irate.

Huh well it turns out I heard from a few federal workers about this and well

"We civil servants organized to help our colleagues face the hardship of the shutdown, we put up with the pain and our only request was to not be betrayed like this. Trade our pain, make it count."

Narrator: Surprising no one, He Lied
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

Today the 3rd Circuit Court ordered the @post-gazette.com to restore our contract it illegally tore up 5 years ago. That’s our health care, PTO, right to a 40-hr. work week, short-term disability and so much more we’ve struck for 3+ years.

Hearing from more people after this went out.

"We're all pissed. This was a lot of unnecessary stress on people and their families for nothing. And if I win the lottery tonight I absolutely will spend millions to hire people to follow these 8 Dems around for a year and make their lives miserable."
I heard from a bunch of federal employees last night and this morning. They aren't happy.

"I would rather be an actual pawn. At least pawn sacrifices are calculated and achieve something. All this for a fucking meaningless vote."

Betraying the American public and his own constituents and then immediately turning around to write this nonsense is some dirty work, my god
LOLOL @durbin.senate.gov read the room bro

"As a senator and Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, I will use every tool at my disposal to push back against this president’s attack on our democracy."

The news is going to be terrible every single day for the foreseeable future. Do not get wrapped up in the daily discourse. Think about what role you can play IRL to help the ppl around you. There’s probably ppl already doing what you think should be doing, join them. If not - GO DO IT! We need you.
One solid way you can fight back today & everyday is to look out for your neighbor, & not just in theory. If you’re in LA, someone in your building probably needs a mask. Someone living outside probably needs a meal. That person being stopped by the cops needs someone to record what’s happening.
The way forward is the same as it’s always been - organize your neighborhood, your household, your workplace. Nobody is coming to save us except ourselves. Look out for one another.

New from me in @newrepublic.com: “Primary Every Democrat.”

If the current crop cannot demonstrate they care more about democracy than enjoying three-day weekends, we should flood the zone and challenge them all.
Primary Every Democrat
It’s exhausting to watch poll-tested, donor-beholden congressional Democrats continue to be too old, too cloistered, and too bumbling to do anything as the government burns.
