One solid way you can fight back today & everyday is to look out for your neighbor, & not just in theory. If you’re in LA, someone in your building probably needs a mask. Someone living outside probably needs a meal. That person being stopped by the cops needs someone to record what’s happening.
The way forward is the same as it’s always been - organize your neighborhood, your household, your workplace. Nobody is coming to save us except ourselves. Look out for one another.

The disappearances in Los Angeles continue. Boyle Heights is a neighborhood in East L.A., not far from the part I grew up in. It is a majority Mexican/Central American heritage community.

Organize your neighborhood, patrol your block, & defend your neighbors. We need you!

No one is coming to save us except ourselves
word is that multiple kidnappings were averted due to community action & patrols

if you live anywhere in LA and can devote a couple of hours in your week to patrol and rapid response work, you can potentially save your neighbors from being abducted by Steven Miller's soldiers

The west side is being hit hard today. Similar roving kidnapping operations seen in mid city & ktown last week. Cannot stress how much community defense is necessary and needed right now.
TODAY - WEST LOS ANGELES

ICE is patrolling from the ocean to La Brea & W Jefferson Blvd to National Blvd. Beginning at 9:45 am, there have been multiple reports of known ICE vehicles circling in order to conduct rolling kidnappings. So far, ICE has detained at least 7 people.

Just because Bovino is leaving doesn't mean the kidnapping operations stop. There were at least 200 people abducted off the streets of Los Angeles & Southern California in the past 2 weeks. (data compiled from verified community alerts & field reports, the true number is definitely higher.)

The news is going to be terrible every single day for the foreseeable future. Do not get wrapped up in the daily discourse. Think about what role you can play IRL to help the ppl around you. There’s probably ppl already doing what you think should be doing, join them. If not - GO DO IT! We need you.

DSA-LA now pro-2028 Olympics, years after
@nolympicsla.bsky.social started as a DSA working group. Wow. Slap in the face to so many organizers.
NOlympics LA started as a DSA-LA working group. This year, they decided to make their bed with Unite Here’s reformist platform.

Our position is that the Olympics cannot be reformed. Efforts to do so elsewhere have consistently failed. There is no “good” way to host the Olympics.
