Hey! This website is really open to boycotting the World Cup & the Olympics, which we LOVE to see. We are organizing against the 2028 Olympics in LA as part of a broader fight against turning Los Angeles into a permanent host city for mega-events. We want NO Olympics anytime, anywhere.

Casey Wasserman’s close relationship to Ghislaine Maxwell is problematic. His sexual relationships with subordinates is problematic. And as Alissa points out in this thread, his redeeming aspects are… actually not that great either
Casey Wasserman’s defenders insist he should stay on as LA28 chair because he’s doing such a great job raising money.

But the truth is that LA28 is such an opaque organization that we don’t actually know the truth — and all the deliverables we *can* track are severely overdue

There's one more LA28 deliverable we're waiting on: the Cultural Olympiad plan. And with Maria Arena Bell out as chair (as Torched reported first) Wasserman will have to find deep-pocketed donors for an entire festival built around the one type of Angeleno fleeing his orbit in droves: artists

The implosion of Wasserman’s own firm points to a bigger problem looming for LA28. If his businesses relationships are so key to fundraising, do these connections even still exist? Why is everyone so confident that Wasserman's own personal brand toxicity isn't going to become its own liability?

I wrote about why LA28's vote to keep Casey Wasserman in power should outrage LA taxpayers who are on the hook for the games — and how it signifies yet another way that this organization is out of sync with the city it claims to represent
LA28's big gamble
Casey Wasserman's own company forced him out — and now LA28 really expects the city to embrace him?

I identified four (4) NBA teams part-owned by a firm that sold a property to the Department of Homeland Security for a planned ICE detention center. And I explain why more owners could follow in the warehouse to megajail business.

it's the new [eyeblack]:

The IOC didn't have any problems with posting Nazi-propaganda on the 1936 Olympics in 2020 already. They even paid money to be able to show the film bits by Leni Riefenstahl.

Zany as it may sound, Germany is bidding on the 2036 Olympics, which would mark the 100-year anniversary of the "Nazi Games" overseen by Hitler & Goebbels (and in the very same stadium no less). The anti-Olympics group @nolympiaberlin.bsky.social is organizing against it.
