the american healthcare/insurance system is a fucking joke
1. James’ six kids are now without their father.

In the last two years, he had to sell his Dawson’s Creek memorabilia to help pay for his cancer treatment.

His castmates had to put on a show to help cover his medical expenses.
James Van Der Beek, who has been battling cancer, has died.

He was 48.

Very sad, so young.

And I think I remember that he had to sell off a lot of his memorabilia to pay for treatments which is also a sad indictment of the US healthcare system

What is it recently with him? Was he always like this? The defensiveness to the most reasonable and restained critisism. What is the fucking point of them.

You know what it is as well, we are presented with these 'intellectuals' and told they are smart, measured, intelligent people. But actually, no.

If he was any thicker, he'd set

Eoin has form in this area. Here he is, complaining about Mary Butler's touching words about her trans son... and getting schooled by Leo Varadkar (who isn't exactly a lefty).

Oh. I just saw it. Actually. Fair play to him

This confirmed by the Taoiseach in the Dáil just now – a significant backtrack by the Government in the midst of an acute housing shortage, now allowing more properties to stay in use for short-term lettings without needing to register/amend their property designation as 'commercial'

‘The hysteria that has developed about abuse of women’ (Chomsky in an email to Epstein). To all the Chomsky defenders, esp those on the left-this sentence, alone, dripping with misogyny & a sexist dismissal of sexual violence against women condemns him. There is no acceptable apology for this #epstein

So Google now thinks I should get to the airport, leave the airport and walk back to the airport for an hour and turn a 2 hrs 30 minute travel time to a 5 hr one.

Thanks AI! #Spéirgorm

It just told me I needed to leave now to be at Dublin Airport by 13:30 now to catch 9am Citylink that arrives in Dublin Airport at 11am. Then I should take the 11:45 Kells bus to Ballymun and walk back one hour to the airport

This is how I have felt for years about 'debate'. Or, certainly how we use that word now. Whether is it on radio, television or social media, the idea of debate being important is so ingrained in us now. But is is all utter, utter bullshit.
Blindboy referred to how we’ve all been conditioned to argue online as ‘turn-based combat’ & I can’t get it out of my head. That’s exactly what it is. A pointless gamified system that no one ever really wins, designed to keep us all busy fighting each other rather than the actual enemy
