If they can do this to find a dog, they can do this to find anyone. That’s terrifying.

So Google now thinks I should get to the airport, leave the airport and walk back to the airport for an hour and turn a 2 hrs 30 minute travel time to a 5 hr one.

Thanks AI! #Spéirgorm

Google must have finally incorporated AI into Google Maps. How do I know?
It just told me I needed to leave now to be at Dublin Airport by 13:30 now to catch 9am Citylink that arrives in Dublin Airport at 11am. Then I should take the 11:45 Kells bus to Ballymun and walk back one hour to the airport

This is how I have felt for years about 'debate'. Or, certainly how we use that word now. Whether is it on radio, television or social media, the idea of debate being important is so ingrained in us now. But is is all utter, utter bullshit.
Blindboy referred to how we’ve all been conditioned to argue online as ‘turn-based combat’ & I can’t get it out of my head. That’s exactly what it is. A pointless gamified system that no one ever really wins, designed to keep us all busy fighting each other rather than the actual enemy

@reynoldsgareth.bsky.social Listened to the Past Times yesterday where Dave explained what PU is.

I promise you, I did not google anything about them, I have heard him speak about them before and I know who they are.

Anyway, my LinkedIn today....
The fuck is this doing being advertised to me on LinkedIn. Reported it correctly

I, honestly, am always so baffled when businesses claim their trade will be negatively affected by pedestrianisation.

It. Makes. No. Sense.

But good to see studies proving it

The Venn Diagram between racists and transphobes is a circle.
The actions of the far right against migrants and how likes of many "gender critical activists" act towards trans and non-binary individuals are one and the same.
It was inevitable it would escalate.

Trans teacher followed home by right-winger Tommy Robinson
A teacher was approached at home by Tommy Robinson after parents complained about them allegedly requesting to use the title 'Mx'.

I have to go out later and I am not feeling amazing. I have taken some drugs and will have a glass of wine before I leave.

The actual thought that went through my head when I decided to dose myself with drugs & alcohol in order to mask an illness? 'Worked for Michael Jackson'

Should be fine.

'Granted, if our problem were orcs or the Dark Lord Sauron or something, then it would be easier to sympathise with Martin’s insistence that he is not Gandalf. Until then, it seems fair enough to ask for some semblance of a real, timely solution.'

This week's column is about Magic Wand Micheál.

Can't remember where I heard this recently, but I thought it was great. And by 'kids' they were referring to people 25 and under.

"The job of a kid is to make mistakes.

It is the job of the rest of us to not take advantage of that"

hard to think of a better example of "you may not believe in class war, but billionaires know they're in one" than this
This is bleak: Jes Staley, currently CEO of Barclays, reassuring Epstein that popular revolt against financial elites is unlikely because capitalism and pop culture have defanged social movements, leaving people more invested in consumption than justice.

'His racism is not due to dementia'

Of course not.

But his dementia is absolutely why he doesn't know to try & hide it anymore
1. It was not an accident.
2. It was not a staffer.
3. While the president may have dementia his racism is not due to dementia.
4. He isn’t sorry. He means every racist thought he shares.
5. His base agrees with him.
6. He will do it again.
7. No one in power will hold him accountable.

They've deleted it. Alls well that ends well.
People have been saying, for months now, that there will come a time when the dementia becomes too advanced.

It is a matter of time before he says, or does, something so bad that they will have no choice but to remove him.

We are hurtling, at incredible speed, towards that day.

It is nothing short of impressive that, in revealing the information, they managed to make it worse.
Why are the men’s names redacted and the victims names exposed?

I think my favourite thing about this clip where HC explains that current legislation is unfair to victims is that after she explains it, Michael Martin almost chides her and explains that her words are, in fact, very unfair on the government. The real victims.
The use of victims' counselling notes in trials for sexual offences is grotesque – yet the govt's new legislation doesn't ban the practice.

The Taoiseach says an outright ban is unconstitutional – the Social Democrats don't accept that excuse.

The govt needs to act stronger on this.

Shocking but unfortunately true
“The idea that we would give priority to not standing up to big tech over the generation and sharing of child abuse material, it’s an absolutely shocking and reprehensible assertion,” insists Micheál Martin.
