The mainstream press has the same problem as the Democratic Party: it treats the Republican Party as a normal political party, rather than as an anti-Enlightenment, segregationist death cult. You should not work with them on anything, you should defeat them because all their ideas suck.

There are fundamentally two Americas: the Union and the Confederacy. Our current struggle is about which we choose to be.
The answer is they don’t like the US, they like the Confederacy. Explicit, codified, unashamed racism ruled by oligarchic elites. Strict social codes and mores that buttress the entire thing who themselves were built on misremembered imagined histories.

Bush stealing the election and 9/11 happening was the one-two punch that really fucked up this whole century. Trying to come to terms with the fact that my life peaked when I was 10.
For those of you who grew up after 9/11, we got along just fine without a Department of Homeland Security for 212 years.

The DHS was formed to try to prevent future terror attacks — now, it is orchestrating them.

one of my strongest beliefs is that we're in our situation right now bc some of the most prominent talking heads (e.g. joe rogan, andrew schulz) are learning about politics in their 40s and 50s, instead of their teens and early 20s, and we have to go along for the ride as they learn basic things

If you campaigned for the presidency on a promise to destroy these assholes, you would win a landslide the size of FDR in 1936, when he campaigned on a promise to destroy these assholes.
Yes, Peter decided that the continued existence of our democracies isn't compatible with his desired level of personal freedom.

An absolute enemy of humanity.

Breaking Points is such a strange program. They will have Emily Faschinsky on and act like she is a reasonable Conservative. Then at night she will go on Megyn Kelly where she lets her freak flag fly.

Nuanced take: I think it's really important to give *normal citizens* who supported Trump and off-ramp and *professional writers, pundits and politicians* who supported Trump should have to wear it like a scarlet letter for the rest of their lives
This is aggravating, because on the one hand I think it's really important to give fascists an off-ramp and positive reinforcement when they use it...

...on the other hand, FUCK that guy, in particular.

The Tim Walz story just shows Democrats are held to higher standards than Republicans. Other people did crimes and he owned up to it and ended his campaign. Republicans and business criminals can do crimes and are held to no standards whatsoever.
