The hate of men will pass, and dictators die.

85 years ago, Charlie Chaplin delivered his famous speech at the end of his first film with dialogue - The Great Dictator.

He spoke these timeless words as Nazis rose to power, and the drums of war beat in Europe, echoing across the world.

As relevant, and necessary to hear, today as ever

🇵🇱 Poland's €2bn anti-drone defences should be operational by this summer.

Warsaw is moving seriously to address immediate wartime needs, and wisely not waiting for the more technically ambitious EU-wide drone wall to materialise.

I'm not shy arguing we should stand with Ukraine in Ukraine, directly protecting civilian lives. Beyond just aid.

But we can take heart from this strategically.

Europe has functionally replaced an unstable US for Ukraine's core support needs 👍

Now we must find the steel to actually help them win.
🇺🇦 Kiel Institut: In 2025, European aid increased notably, with military aid allocation rising by 67 percent and financial and humanitarian aid by 59 percent compared to the annual average between 2022 and 2024.

The Kremlin has no plans to send any representatives to the first meeting of the “Peace Council” on February 19.

Lukashenko won’t be attending either because apparently his schedule was already “fully booked.”

After all Trump/Witkoff's bullshitting about "great progress" and "constructive talks" through 2025...

In 2026, Putin still absurdly demands Ukraine withdraw from Ukraine to even get a fucking negotiation. Let alone agree to any peace.

Russia won't be enticed to peace, it must be forced into it. 🤷‍♂️
