1/ Do the caving Democrats need to see a few more children being ripped from the arms of their parents? Do they need a few more specific examples of ACA premiums forcing people to drop insurance in order to eat? Do they need some additional polling showing how unpopular Trump is?

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?
