Democracy is the way. Truth and justice matter.

Russia can end the war today by leaving Ukraine.

Less proud to be an American than I used to be. I really thought we were better than this.

"There is still no legislation authorizing any tariff rebate, tariffs remain in legal limbo, and Trump has no authority to issue checks to the public. Despite this, the email continues to use official-sounding language that mimics a gov't benefit while functioning solely as a campaign solicitation."

The interesting thing is that organizers at both prayer breakfasts clearly *still* try to be bipartisan, except that Trump’s speeches at the event just repeatedly derail those efforts.
I wrote about the origins of the National Prayer Breakfast in ONE NATION UNDER GOD as a deliberately non-partisan event that sought to transcend party politics, so watching Trump treat it like a campaign event is always a little odd.
Trump at National Prayer Breakfast: "They rigged the second election. I had to win it. I needed it for my own ego. I would've had a bad ego for the rest of my life. Now I really have a big ego. Beating these lunatics was incredible ... The first time they said I didn't win the popular vote. I did"

The perfect way to enable other crimes is to focus all law enforcement on immigration
The top federal prosecutor in Minnesota says his short-staffed office has been abandoning "pressing and important priorities" to manage the flood of immigration cases.

Daniel Rosen says his office is buckling under the crushing weight of emergency lawsuits filed by immigrants detained by ICE.
Top Minnesota prosecutor says ICE cases are sidelining ‘pressing priorities’
The office has been swamped with cases stemming from Operation Metro Surge.

Marsha Blackburn is quite competitive for at least two titles:

Most corrupt and dishonest senator, and dumbest senator.

I realize there's a lot of competition for these.

And she blocks every single measure regarding election security every single time they come up for a vote.
Here’s @tennessean reporter @Vivian_E_Jones calling out governor hopeful @MarshaBlackburn for spewing education privatization talking points to a privatization vouchers/charters lobbyist propaganda arm — As she ducks local press and actual citizens and debates 🤔

Acting like $59k from a casino PAC for a state rep race and $2 million from crypto PAC for a congressional race are the same is both intellectually lazy and dishonest.

Guess which one he demonizes???

The billionaires are becoming increasingly resentful of the fact that struggling citizens are becoming increasingly resentful of billionaires.
Cameron Barr: I won't deny that Trump's threats to his business interests are part of the story, but my guess that that it's not that really Bezos has suddenly become a coward, it's that like Elon et al. he has just come to share Trump's grievances and resentments

⛓️CONCENTRATION CAMPS & INCINERATORS—D.H.S. is setting up a huge network of camps. They are converting the U.S. as a region for ‘expeditionary military deployment’ & no-bid no-public-comment contracts to build a “ghost network” of 10,000-person concentration camps. Jesus. Thread 🧵

Two things are true 1.) Informed observers, including many if not most elected Republicans, know how this regime is going to end, it's just a question of when and how. 2.) It's up to the rest of the country to fight them to a draw until they collapse or are turned out of office via elections. 1/2

Again, there's a straight line from this back to the ugliest parts of our history & people who do this should be shamed off the national media & shunned from polite society & American politics. In fact, they should be asked to resign immediately for violating their oaths of office.
Again, there’s a straight line between this appalling nonsense straight back to the failure of Reconstruction & we simply shouldn’t tolerate it anymore. People who do this should be shamed off the national media and never invited back. And forced to resign for violating their oaths of office. Enough
There is a straight line from the failure of Reconstruction to "We don't need to count everyone's vote in the 2000 election" to "People from places like Madison & Milwaukee aren't real Wisconsinites & shouldn't have their votes count" to "ICE can murder people in cold blood in our cities."

Fortunately here in California everyone (even Hispanic citizens) can vote safely from the comfort of their own homes and mail in their ballots, which is probably the most hack-proof form of voting there is. Everyone should have this right. Trump wants to force you to wait in lines for a machine.
