Democracy is the way. Truth and justice matter.

Russia can end the war today by leaving Ukraine.

Less proud to be an American than I used to be. I really thought we were better than this.

I just checked Pacer.

Julie Le entered appearance in 28 cases that have filing dates of Jan 27 or later. I don't have words for that one, someone else is gonna have to fill in those details.
If that's right, she's gotten assigned at least eight in less than the last ten days.

Maybe I'm below the mean in terms of stamina, but I am confident that I could not provide competent representation for that many of that kind of case in that kind of timeframe.

I've told this story on ContrabandCamp but it's worth sharing for BHM because it's one of the greatest stories ever.

A thread.

Google complies with DHS requests. If you haven't back up your stuff off Google somewhere else - you really really should.
Floored by this story. A man wrote a pollite email to a federal prosecutor objecting to the deportation of an Afghan seeking asylum. DHS responded with an administrative warrant to get the man's info from Google, then visited his home to intimidate him.

This email between Epstein and JD Vance’s tech oligarch benefactor Peter Thiel where they plan to “collapse” society to create investment opportunities for themselves seems… not great

(They also met with the UN ambassador to Russia together)

Stop asking if they’re “rigging the election.”
They. Already. Are.
But the most dangerous part isn’t the mechanics. It’s the message.
They’re doing it in public to make you swallow the real lie:
That voting is pointless.
If they can get you to quit before Election Day… they don’t even have to win.

It's a very regrettable choice.
Always remember. Not defeating Russia is a choice that Europeans and Americans are making. Nothing more, nothing less.

Exactly. If Europe wanted to stop the terror, push Russia out of Ukraine and make sure Russia is pacified it could do so with a stroke of a pen. It is all about political will. The resources to win are available in abundance.

Apropos of nothing, Mark Harris was the Republican candidate for Congress who "won" his district in November 2018 -- only for people to discover his campaign was doing bona fide fraud, so the results were annulled and a new election held months later
At least the Nazis went to the trouble of passing the Nuremberg Laws and making the brutality and totalitarianism street legal. The gutlessness of the American run at fascism is that they want to do it simply by pretending the Bill of Rights never existed or meant anything.
Rep. Mark Harris: "Some of these things are nonstarters. Having judicial warrants? To me, hat's a nonstarter. Being able to make off their mask, putting them at risk? That's a nonstarter. I would say anything that's going to hamstring the work of ICE, that's just not going to go anywhere."

The curious case of the President’s formal personal lawyer who is now in DOJ Leadership saying “partying with Epstein is not a crime” but then the GOP Oversight push to depose Bill Clinton and none of the other “partiers.”
@lukerussert.bsky.social: “If partying with Epstein is not a crime, why are we deposing Bill Clinton?”

Bill Clinton will be deposed in the House Oversight Committee’s Epstein investigation on Feb. 27, as critics note the Trumps have not been approached. The Weeknight hosts respond.

The Trump administration tried to fire civil rights staff, got blocked, then paid them to sit at home for nine months.

Cost: up to $38 million.

No greater “efficiencies” achieved, just wasted taxpayer money and weaker protections for kids.

Total and complete incompetence.
The Education Department's efforts to fire staff cost over $28 million, watchdog says

Epstein is being described by the Polish PM as a possible Russian spy. If so, it would explain a great deal. All the Epstein “evidence” would actually be kompromat taking in the rich and powerful to serve Kremlin interests. www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2...

I have lost count of how many times people have said I am too conspiracy minded with regards to Russia. But I have very often been proven right. However, it never occurred to me that maybe Epstein also had a Russian connection.
So Putin is all over the Epstein files. It would come as no surprise to me if the Epstein organization was a front for Russian covert activities to be able to blackmail American establishment figures.

Again, I know everyone wants to yell at The Democrats & Chuck Schumer & Hakeem Jefferies, but there are 10-25 people in Washington who could literally end all of this tomorrow, & none of them are Democrats, & they continue to get 24/7 free passes for being absolute oath-violating cowards. Focus.
Yes, we’re looking at you, Lisa Murkowski & Susan Collins & Thom Tillis, you absolute oath-violating cowards.
These 5 people could caucus with the Democrats, giving them a majority & firmly opposing the fascism, any time. It might be nice for an enterprising journalist to ask them why they keep not doing this every day as the crimes & corruption continue & John Thune refuses to fulfill his oath of office.
