Just as in the case of Jimmy Kimmel's suspension, a consumer backlash is now underway: CBS fans are hearing about the "60 Minutes" imbroglio and calling/emailing local CBS stations to register their concerns. "We have no real support," a reporter at one of those stations told me.

As "60 Minutes" finalized its "Inside CECOT" report last Thursday, CBS sent the White House a request for comment. A WH spokesperson responded within a few hours. The quote was not included in the "60" report – so, judge for yourself whether it should have been included or not >>>

A bit more detail about the Canadian stream: CBS now confirms that the Friday version of "60 Minutes" was shipped to Global TV. Then a "change order" went out on Saturday telling Global that a "new version" was being sent. The new one aired on TV in Canada, but the old version went on Global's app.

Bari Weiss is back on the 9am editorial call at CBS today, but there hasn't been any mention of the ongoing "60 Minutes" controversy, or the Canadian stream of the segment she shelved, etc.

Earlier this month, after Trump blasted "60 Minutes" for interviewing Marjorie Taylor Greene, correspondents noticed a change behind the scenes. "Bari Weiss got personally involved," specifically with stories about politics, a source at the program says.

Sometimes the no comment is the entire story!
One explanation for Bari killing the story is that she did so as a public act of fealty to the administration. But another is that, as an inexperienced journalist, she doesn’t understand that a refusal to go on the record is a kind of comment in and of itself
