The VA Secretary was just asked — by @ramirez.house.gov — if vets who are deported also get their benefits cut off.

The secretary said it depends.

I happen to be at a hearing today with VA Secretary Doug Collins.

Collins just pointedly declined to say Alex Pretti had been an employee in good standing.

“I’m not here to talk about that,” he said.

So....am I allowed to wear to jeans to congressional testimony?

I am *not* testifying.

Asking for someone who is clearly less mature than me.

My colleague got into Trump's sprawling family detention camp, which is full of toddlers, kids, & teens.

- Kids have cut themselves or talked about suicide

-There's worms & mold in food

-300 kids have been held for 30+ days, far longer court settlement allows

Less than 14% of those arrested by ICE under Trump have even been *accused* of a violent crime.

Just 1.9% have been accused of belonging to gangs.

The official DHS statistics, which had not been previously reported, provide the most detailed look yet into who ICE has arrested during the Trump administration's crackdown.

You know who did great reporting on Washington Post leadership?

Washington Post reporters like @sarahellison.bsky.social — until they laid her off.

Will Lewis’s little note has many amazing lines.

“After two years of transformation…” <— that “transformation” has consisted of what, exactly?

“The institution could not have a better owner.” <—🍑💋

“During my ensure, difficult decisions have been taken…” <—passive construction. Pls rewrite.

So the Washington Post has tossed most of its health reporters -- 8 of 13.

At a time when public health is being undermined by those in power.
The Washington Post gutted the health team which I helped to lead despite our stories being among the most widely read, impactful and adept at reaching new audiences.
