The mainstream press has the same problem as the Democratic Party: it treats the Republican Party as a normal political party, rather than as an anti-Enlightenment, segregationist death cult. You should not work with them on anything, you should defeat them because all their ideas suck.

There's just no way to exaggerate how cooked your brain has to be to think like this. Trump is an unprecedented, law-breaking, norm-breaking, increasingly demented maniac who is destroying this country's basic institutions. Like, right now! As we speak!

But media elites find that boring.

All of the talk of "doxing ICE agents" should be a non-premise because law enforcement agents working for the government shouldn't have anonymity to begin with. "Steve Johnson from Duluth is a cop" should be a matter of public record. You're a government employee not fucking Banksy

It’s probably bad how the United States economy will collapse to 1929 level lows if everyone just decides to log off for a mental health day. We propped up the entire economy on the idea that people will just continue to willingly inflict psychic damage on themselves on a daily basis

These assholes aren’t messiahs or super-geniuses. They’re weirdos who were in the right place at the right time and were all ruthless enough to fuck everyone over they ever knew and shameless enough to build cults populated with other antidemocratic weirdos. It’s infuriating.

I’m really hung up on this idea that everyone left of center with any kind of platform must triangulate to swing voters in Missouri. It’s utterly bizarre. Politics does not work that way. It never has.

If someone from another country explained that their president could violate their constitution's plain text but that it was completely legitimate because lifetime judges who belong to political parties said he could on the "shadow docket," you would laugh at them because their country is primitive.

One reason I do not think Trump is going to create a 1,000 year reich is because he failed to cancel a middling funnyman and immediately pivoted to trying to outlaw not having a headache.

I think the reason for this is pretty straightforward: the largest cohort of cross-pressured swing voters in the United States are people who are cross-pressured because they are secular but racist
People really need to reckon with why people will vote for pro-choice referendums and pro-life candidates at the same time.

This isn’t an argument for a pro-life candidate but it is a suggestion that voting the referendums don’t refute the point.
I genuinely cannot believe that Ezra Klein said we should run pro-life candidates in Kansas, Ohio, and Missouri; three states that recently held abortion referendums where the pro-choice side won!

Kind of weird how Roberts declared the VRA preclearance to rest on dated and unfair assumptions about the South and within 15 years the former Confederate states will have effectively eliminated almost every black district within those states.
