Everyone is welcome to come in my mentions and enter the realm of posting combat.

Or ill just click the button so the notification goes away and ignore everything.
i will say it is genuinely very funny to be followed on here by authors you love and then somehow accidently swarm their mentions by mistake (whoops)
i mean this earnestly and not as a joke, you've turned my bsky notifs tonight into what my tumblr notifs are like, ie, totally unusable (said with affection)

Actually getting assets in place to hit Colombia like they did Venezuela is... uh... well it would take awhile and be very obvious.

Gotta admit, the last 24 hours have not made me optimistic about the long term future of this platform and that makes me sad because I've generally made some real connections here with folks I respect a great deal.

Am honest read of the data and historical precedents is that Rs should be shitting themselves.
Are Republicans poised to win this year? Should they be "confident" about their chances? Who knows! The NYT certainly wont tell you bc reporting what the reality is about midterms would contrast with the pro-R narrative they are wedded to pushing.

I mean, I will simply state from the point of medicine and good studies that we have that everything the president of the united states is suggesting here is entirely empirically disproven as necessary precaution.
We're going to get a bunch of child deaths and brain damage due to uncontrolled fevers

as best I can tell, account is gone?

Many parellels to history, and they're all the ones where we're a few years away from 'total collapse'
We really are the late Ming lol

I mean, it does make a certain amount of sense that the downfall of empire is caused by people who don't understand how you actually make empire in the first place
It’s genuinely wild that the United States spent decades building an elaborate rules-based international order which de facto cemented its permanent status as the dominant global hegemon, sustained by ideology rather than might, and now is just blowing it all up for literally no reason

>:( Sky is gone and you all suck
oh? you harassed another queer person off the microblogging site? do you feel good? has the revolution been achieved? are we closer to communism, comrade?

This is a very bad political idea.

Actually we kinda know that when Miller is on TV they're out of good options.
MILLER: The US is using its military to secure our interests unapologetically in our hemisphere. We're a superpower. It's absurd we'd allow a nation in our backyard to become a supplier of resources to our adversaries

TAPPER: Sovereign countries shouldn't be able to do what they want?

Kash is my favorite of the dumb goons lmao he's just so transparently grifty
Kash Patel is on Fox & Friends kissing Trump's ass and you can hear an aide screaming "guys, you cannot be adjusting his light!" as they struggle with his shot

One would note that this is a -huge- walkback of what they were saying they were going to do (Court Martial him)
The Pentagon will cut the military retirement pay of Sen. Mark Kelly for what Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called the Arizona Democrat’s “seditious” statements on a video telling service members they have the right to refuse to execute illegal orders.

Surely as a great power we can take this nonessential piece of land and not be drawn into a massive generational conflict that destroys the world economy.

Now to take a sip of water and open my history book.

lmao
I'll note that one source who pointed out that the oil is too shitty to process economically was this guy...

It is interesting to see the MAGA hawk types suddenly very emboldened. You kind of wonder if you're going to see a bit of a civil war over this.
Want to see what MAGA is thinking right now?

Whadda ya mean ya don't want the coup?
Marco Rubio said he’s reserving judgment on Venezuela VP Delcy Rodríguez’s denial, saying the U.S. will judge the interim authorities by their actions in the coming days and weeks and urging them to seize a “historic opportunity” to serve the country.-NYT

John Mearsheimer, Oct. 3 2024: "I think that Biden's basic instincts are those of a warmonger, and I think that's not true of Trump. I think Trump is not that interested in fighting wars."

Stepping back a bit, they're so obsessed with the posting loop on twitter with like a couple hundred thousand people that I really don't think they quite internalize how unpopular a lot of this shit is. Like, Donny being a weird capitalist neo-con is.. uh... kinda out of sync with his party?
Nothing about these guys is subtle, I’ll give them that

It's really a shame we don't have old c-spam or LF or something for this moment, because a government run by posters is just the type of insanity we were preparing for.

My favorite part of these pictures is you can tell that Miller is getting fat.
"But Wiles conceded that attacking targets on Venezuela’s mainland would force Trump to get congressional approval. 'If he were to authorize some activity on land, then it’s war, then [we’d need] Congress.'"

Sorry, Leibniz. It's actually the dumbest of all compossible possibilities.

They dragged Hegseth, drunk, to the situation room where Gramps was sundowning so Stephen Miller and Marco Rubio could abduct Maduro WITH NO PLAN ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED NEXT
