“What do we do now?”
I don’t like when they serve vegetarian burritos that have like big pieces of bell pepper and onion (or broccoli or carrot) in them. A vegetarian burrito should be rice, beans, and fixin’s (e.g. cheese, guacamole, salsa, lettuce). It’s just flavorless chunks of water.
This place needs some Innocuous Discourse pronto. Quote this with a take that’s not political or aggressive

It's really funny that Robert Skidelsky, a leading biographer of Keynes, was born in Manchukuo, went from Labour -> SDP -> Conservative, opposed the Yugoslav intervention and backed Corbyn for PM, and has been a leading pro-Russia voice. I wonder if his book "Money and Government" is any good.

so much of the political neuroses found not only in US but also across the world seems tied to, or directly originates from, the 1970s Oil Embargo
it's about oil (superstructure), not oil (base), to put it in marxo terms
The amount of “this is clearly about oil” posting across all platforms as story after story comes out where the oil industry is saying that the oil isn’t worth extracting is making me feel a little insane

The Democrats are clearly retreating to this position based on the idea Americans are too dumb, venal, and stupid to care about the lives of anyone but them. They’re probably right; but what’s the point of putting your hands in the gutter if your eyes are not turned to the stars?
Chris Murphy: "At some level he's winning tonight because clearly part of his intent here was to distract the American people -- you and I -- from what's happening here at home. You have 20 million families who are getting massive increases in their healthcare premiums. People will die."

Rather than foolishly threatening to attack a NATO ally by invading Greenland, the president should focus here at home on lowering costs and creating economic opportunities for American families.

Trump renews push to annex Greenland after Venezuela strike
President Donald Trump has repeatedly talked about annexing Greenland. He reupped those calls hours after the U.S. captured Venezuela's leader.

"why isn't the csam machine making more headlines?" brother it is extremely simple; the people that make the headlines are addicted to the website that built the csam machine

Walz was wrong to drop out because every headline is now like this. “Uh I should drop out to avoid right-wing smears and focus on fraud” thanks man, you just validated what they said.

Really the take from the last few years is that if the Europeans wanted to kowtow towards a rapidly democratic backsliding state with that dawg in it that would actually protect them from Russia instead of throwing them to the wolves they should have let Turkey into the EU.

If we can reach $200k, we'll be in a place where we have enough to invest in some of our up front costs (such as the print publishing component of The Reconstruction Papers) to also finally have one full time editor on staff. We just need 19% more than we've already raised gofund.me/98115b78b

It’s not even the Nazi bar analogy anymore, it’s like if the owner of the Nazi bar succeeded in murdering hundreds of thousands of people and now installed a machine that produces CSAM on demand. It’s insane that people are still on there.
look its not important where you go. bluesky, threads, substack notes, mastodon, instagram, your college buddy's house where he plays beer pong with raccoons, its not important
