The first living thing to go through the device was a small white rat. I still have him, in fact. As you can see, the damage was not so great as they say.

The guy was being held down on the ground by like 6 scumbags and he was shot point blank while doubled over on his knees after the piece of shit pistol whipped him several times. Now you don’t have to watch.

What's truly jaw dropping about this reporting is that, as @louiseseamster.bsky.social notes, the New York Times has in the past used one of these white supremacists (who had hacked and stolen data from Columbia University) when they were doing hit pieces on then candidate Mamdani.
An important and disturbing revelation—and this parenthetical is an interesting way for the NYT to represent how they themselves fell for the same race science group’s BS because they were looking so hard for anti-Mamdani smear content.

And a special shout out to every "cancel culture" grifter who helped make white supremacy mainstream again. Dude was fired because he's an unethical hack. But "cancel culture" fools gave him a ready-made excuse for his persecution complex.

The New York Times reports that a group of “scientific” racists misused National Institute of Health data (that families were assured would be protected) to write bogus papers on supposed to biological racial differences. Gift link.

it is funny how all the fictional monsters we imagined taking over the U.S. for the last 30 years are objectively better people than the current regime. Give me Skeletor, please. Cobra Commander wants to run shit? He can hardly be worse than what we're rockin' today. It's worth a shot!

This is the part I like least. Genuinely unsettling that everyone has the same trip.

I want an explanation that’s not “invisible gnomes are always running around, you just haven’t eaten the mushroom that lets you see them.”

It used to be that the single sentence summation of conservatism was “There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect”, but now it’s “We can do whatever we want and you have to be nice to us when we do or else”
I can't get over this bit. Jesus tapdancing Christ.

Venezuelan family seeking asylum -- entered legally, both parents with college degrees -- took their 7-year-old to the ER for a nosebleed and fever. ICE, which is now targeting hospitals as well as churches schools, blocked the child from getting care and detained them instead
The parents of a 7 year old, all of whom are in the process of applying for asylum, took their daughter to the ER when her nose wouldn't stop bleeding. ICE picked them up near the hospital and they are now in detention in Texas, presumably awaiting deportation. www.oregonlive.com/portland/202...

People are missing a big thing about the saga of the detained 5-year-old. When Vance calls the father an "illegal alien" it seems to reflect a little-known Trump admin move that attempts to nullify asylum claims before they are even heard.

This policy is a horror:

Mortality rates:

Mifepristone: 0.65/100,000
Penicillin 2/100K
Viagra 4/100K

Pregnancy in the US: 22/100,000 (some states see rates >60/100K)

More people have died in ICE detention centers already in 2026 than will die from mifepristone all year. These politicians are extremely dangerous to women.
Rep. Chris Smith: "The abortion pill -- mifepristone -- is baby poison ... we now know that the abortion bill -- we've long expected this -- is extremely dangerous to women" (this is a lie)

genuinely Charlie Kirk may have been more degraded and demeaned by the Internet at this point than anyone else in human history

Oh, you're calling the Epic of Gilgamesh the "Ur-Story" of X, Y or Z? Fuck you, it starts in Uruk which predates the city of Ur by many centuries.

(Well actually, well actually the prefix Ur- being derived from the ancient Sumerian city is a common myth arising from coincidence and is from German)

ICE goons dare each other to go into the bathroom, turn off the lights, and say "Will Stancil" three times. Legend says when you turn the light on, he will be standing behind you, recording.

None have ever had the courage to try.
Taxpayer funded treatment for what doctors are only beginning to label "Stancil PTSD" is going to be a huge chunk of the federal budget when the goon squads retire.
