Wow I hadn’t heard of Bovino & CBP going to the front door of Enlace in Little Village. Enlace’s story spans over 30 years in the nhood working on a range of social justice issues. A move to intimidate and mock this org & its members. Psychological terror integral here.
CBP is in Chicago taunting and intimidating organizers. Yesterday, Border Patrol Chief Bovino & other agents:
-Harassed striking Teamsters on the Mauser picket line, asking them their status.
-Went to front door of community group Enlace and waved, in what the org describes as creepy & intimidating

Bovino's BS is distracting us from the Chicago budget turmoil, as a large group of alders are blocking Mayor Johnson's budget with a bad alternative
The mayor immediately slammed the plan to balance the budget by collecting an additional $89M from Chicagoans who owe to the city ambulance payments, utility bills, red-light camera tickets & other debt

"Not only is this proposal immoral, it is simply not feasible," Johnson said.
The Chicago City Council’s Finance Committee voted 22-13 Tuesday to advance a plan to bridge Chicago’s $1.19 billion budget gap without hiking taxes on large firms, handing Mayor Brandon Johnson another stinging defeat. https://to.wttw.com/44yyFw5

@bsky.app @support.bsky.team This is Chicago's only Black owned media outlet and a crucial part of ICE/CBP reporting during an actual emergency. Unacceptable/please free @thetriibe.com
So... @support.bsky.team still hasn't given any tangible help on how we can get access to our @thetriibe.com account again.

It's going on a week now.

Will be posting our stories from here in the meantime.

Donald Trump has instructed the entire FBI to prioritize finding ways to bring charges against anti-fascists and other activists. Any FBI agent who wants to advance his career now has an incentive to set up naïve kids for an entrapment case.

Please read about entrapment and how to protect yourself.

I really would ask ppl on this site to think for a minute about what it feels like to have a moderation team hell-bent on erasing your existence online while an ethnostate destroys you in real life
I knew Bluesky would delete this page today because they’ve deleted all my shares this week- this was Dina’s first page ever here and here’s what it looked like this morning- no tags, no spam, following only 45 people.

a chicago cop shot his mistress (also a cop!) in the back after she threatened to tell his girlfriend that he was cheating. after shooting her he did...nothing. he didn't call an ambulance. he didn't administer aid. cpd is saying it was an "accident" and he hasn't been charged.
‘Where is justice for Krystal?’ Mom of cop asks after suing Chicago Police Department, partner who shot her
The lawsuit filed by Officer Krystal Rivera's family says Officer Carlos Baker failed to call for an ambulance after he shot her in the back during a chase and then engaged in a “cover-up.”

the details in this story are deeply unsettling and speak to the unadulterated misogyny that festers throughout border patrol/ice.

i’ve seen it firsthand at broadview many times—grown ass men targeting specific women/femmes in the crowd they perceive as weak or vulnerable to hit and throw around.

People are going to die because of the pending insurance premium hikes. I know the terrain of discourse is inconsistent and goes through a tumble cycle every 24 hours, but I really think we need to hone in on this reality and drive it home for people.

My org @fightforthefuture.org has been “de-googling” for the last year.

We’re totally off Google suite, Google docs, Drive, Calendar.

We’re using Signal and Element for chat, Nextcloud for docs, etc

Planning to publish a “how to” guide for other nonprofits and activist groups soonish.
