If you have the stomach for the actual video of what happened (and totally understood if you don’t!), compare what your actual eyes see to this Nazi propaganda from a proven Nazi liar.
DHS's first official statement is out, and they call the woman who was shot a domestic terrorist who they claim was trying to kill an ICE agent.

As a reminder, Tricia McLaughlin's post-shooting statements have been proven to be false MULTIPLE times in the past. They are simply not trustworthy.

I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke the window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed the occupants, and arrested them, and shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK
I’m eating lunch, I’m having a panic attack, I’m charging my phone, and then I’m going back out to try and keep my neighborhood safe.

It appears ICE murdered someone in cold blood today and their plan is — per usual — to create a fog of lies so the killer does not face justice. We simply can't let that happen. The shooter has to be arrested and so does Bovino. They can't just kill people on the street.

keep thinking of a vocally anti-woke reporter who insisted that the term "environmental racism" was nonsense

After a White Town Rejected a Data Center, Developers Targeted a Black Area
Four million Americans live within 1 mile of a data center. The communities closest to them are “overwhelmingly” non-white.

Valid point.

I generally don't think that content moderation should be done at the App Store level (and also think that we should abolish app stores and end Apple and Google's monopolies)

but Grok publishing CSAM is so clearly a violation of their terms. they're not acting cuz they're cowards
Where the hell are Google and Apple enforcing their app store terms of service on X? Grok doing CSAM should instantly be a removal from the app store. Any other app doing this would be pulled instantly. Journalists should be asking for comment from these companies.

Many things can be true at the same time:

* The US government and Western media generally systematically lie about socialist-leaning leaders and smear them as authoritarians even when they're not

* Maduro was an actual authoritarian

* The US intervention was wrong, and rooted racism & imperialism
January 7, 2026 at 1:38 PM
this bears repeating:

Grok is bad because it's creating NONCONSENSUAL sexual images of real people.

Not because sex is icky and should be scrubbed from the Internet.

The distinction is crucial at a moment when dangerous censorship legislation is bipartisan and widely misunderstood

New: I spoke with a Colombian asylum seeker who was the victim of a ‘Kavanaugh stop’ about what it was like to be racially profiled, abducted in front his family and held in ICE detention hours from home for more than a month—despite doing everything “the right way.”

This is Nick’s story.

you can't keep kids safe if you don't listen to them.

i am so sick of "kids safety" crusaders who refuse to listen to kids and teens about their actual lived experiences

if you're not listening to kids, what you really want is control, not safety.

I wrote section 230 to protect user speech, not a company's own speech. I've long said AI chatbot outputs are not protected by 230 and that it is not a close call. Given that the Trump administration is going to the mat to protect pedophiles, states should step in to hold Musk and X accountable.
I am not a Section 230 expert but being that Twitter is creating and publishing these photos I wonder if they actually have any civil legal protection? @kenwhite.bsky.social ? @akivamcohen.bsky.social ?
What X is allowing Grok to do is unlawful or regulatory-illegal in multiple jurisdictions, creates clear DSA violations, and continues despite regulator scrutiny. The images do not need to be pornographic, non-consensual sexualised or intimate depictions are enough.

this just so perfectly encapsulates the decades-long messaging failures by the dems
Republicans made welfare fraud in Minnesota the most important story in the country. Schumer turned a war for oil into a question about national security briefings.

gentle reminder that what happened on January 6th was wrong primarily because of the goals, not the tactics

at a time when we need mass civil disobedience, noncompliance, and brave action more than ever, it's crucial that we are specific and careful with our words

It's really frustrating that DC news outlets keep framing the debate around KOSA as if it's just "Democrats want more censorship and Republicans want less censorship."

Just an egregiously wrong and oversimplified narrative that leaves readers uninformed and drowns out the voices of LGBTQ youth
January 6, 2026 at 2:07 PM
yep. whenever people say "the Dems can't do anything" what they are telling you is they don't understand where political power comes from and they don't understand how organizing works
IMO the argument is that you can make things into big enough deals that it matters. Khanna found Massey and found survivors and made the Epstein Files the gigantic story it should be. Only then did establishment Dems come along. You can, in fact, make things into big hairy deals if you do it right.
if you want the Senate to do something, Senate Republicans must do something.

People are dunking on this but I'm not really sure what plays Schumer has other than to try to peel off Rs.

I wrote this two days after Trump supporters stormed the Capital.

Unfortunately, many Democrats have done exactly what this piece warns against: pushing for more censorship and surveillance as a response to right wing extremism.

They're helping the fascists.

for once i am going to say: read the comments, because there are smart people discussing this complex issue there.

I generally agree that 230 should not protect most generative AI outputs because the company itself is "speaking" in response to user prompt, or at least "materially contributing"
Has a court ruled on whether, under Section 230, a web site’s AI generating content based on a user prompt is treated as the web site’s speech? Seems to me it should be, just as if the site operator published speech answering someone’s question.
