I'm not being hyperbolic when I say any "when are Americans going to do something?" poster peddling that bullshit today need to be bullied off the internet.

It's -15 in Minneapolis and folks are literally risking their lives to be in the street and protect their neighbors. How fucking dare you?

I was outside on Monday helping someone move their car and after maybe 5-10 minutes without my gloves my hands were in pain for 5 minutes. That's nothing compared to what my unhoused neighbors go through. We're getting way colder this weekend, please support how you can.

A national general strike is needed not just to protest the violence, but to acknowledge the absurdity that we’re all just supposed to carry on with our stupid little daily lives amidst the ambient terrorism of an unchecked state militia executing innocent people in the streets of our country.

IT IS TELLING THAT THESE ACTS OF CITIZENSHIP ARE SEEN AS PROTEST
One thing that irks me: people keep calling the folks on the streets in Minneapolis protestors. They are not generally there to protest, they are there to observe and document. This is the product of organizing and mutual aid. It is telling that these acts of citizenship are seen as protest!

The term martyr means “witness.” The man was murdered for bearing witness, literally bearing it, not arms but a camera. Murdered for seeing.

One need not believe that the election was tainted to believe that this regime has *rendered* itself illegitimate.
I'm glad to hear Bouie say "This regime is illegitimate" because it's a word that's been bouncing around in my head. I think it's a helpful framing and one that Democratic leaders internalize. Once you accept that this is an illegitimate, authoritarian regime, it should inform how you resist.

they're executing moms and nurses in the street. they're using preschoolers as bait. they're stealing people's dads and grandmas and children. they're tear gassing babies. they're staking out schools. there is no remedy but abolition. any proposal that doesn't start there is an act of violence.

Neighbors keep helping neighbors and you can help too.

Minneapolis’s Edison High School is raising funds to help keep students and their caretakers safe.

We’ve seen ICE grabbing kids - this is one way you can help keep our kids safe. Give now!

The time has come where the DFL can no longer pretend that things are business as usual. @dfl.org @rcarlbom.bsky.social it’s time to pivot to contactless caucuses to protect our precinct caucus attendees and volunteers from harm at the hands of ICE.

We are not the first people, or the first country, to suffer under a tyrannical government that does not respect our lives, or our rights.

There is a method for how to effectively resist, and eventually topple, such a regime. We can learn from others who came before us.

This is my favorite guide.

The newest video shows very clearly that they attacked him for coming to an aid of a woman that the agents pushed, and then executed him while he was immobilized. Everything the government has said, like with Good, has been a complete lie.
