You know what’s fun? Taking 2 minutes to call your Rep and say that you saw this and you know it won’t pass but you like that she’s going for it, and ask your Rep to support it. Thank them if they already are.
I’d be such a bad mayor because ny speechwriters would give me this beautiful speech about the bridge and I’d thank my aides and nod then walk out there, say “we fixed it, have fun, wear a helmet” and then leave to cut line at Serendipity 3 to inhale a Frozen Hot Chocolate

Bsky, you never got to enjoy the absolute orange cat himbo of a dog that was Kit. He was a weird little fox dog that I rescued from a shelter, and among the many hilarious things about him was that he could be incredibly passive aggressive. Kit was the best.

I don’t normally encourage threading in my mentions but @pnutsmama.bsky.social’s singlehanded effort to pass marriage equality is an inspiration.

so, a bunch of years ago, new york state needed to pass marriage equality, and there were enough “probable no’s” to tank it. i was working for a religious org at the time, whose overseers sent out an email of the the list of state senators who could be influenced to vote no and “save marriage”

On the last day of work at Cartier, I stopped the morning meeting to tell the sales manager it was gross how she wiped her nose with the palm of her hand, and everyone thinks it but no one else can say it and it was the best moment of my two years there.
Just imagine the rush this would give you.
