The Wrens

Rec by @amandasmith.bsky.social who said it was the best garage band album, and like yeah. Solid crunchy, 90s tunes where the sound editing and production kicks it another level. Frenetic, driving, surprising. “Jane Fakes a Hug” knocked me out with the sounds and build it uses.

My attitude on this is that I'm not calling them because I think I can change their minds.

I'm calling them because it is unthinkable to let them do this without hearing how evil and awful they are.

My spite powers me. If I can get just 500 people a day to join me, we could fuck up their day.
I call Tommy Tuberville every fucking week, multiple times a week, because he can be evil but I don't have to let him do it without pushback.

So I don't need to hear excuses. I call the dumbest senator in the country. 😂

I agree with this entirely.

Talking about it locally also encourages local attention. Find your people w/in your communities.
I would also add this - urge everyone to contact state elected officials, which include governor, state representatives, state senators, etc., as well as local officials. Ask them if they condone this or not, especially when some could be running for Congress in the 2026 midterm elections.

organizing can look like: finding a mutual in your state/city who also talks about the same bills as you and divvying up work on contacting your reps/senators. you can also share info about the responses you’re getting. i’ve even organized w/ folks who could visit the offices directly.

Imagine being the person brave enough to leak this in the hopes that media attention could stop it and then the media just……buries it.

“Well… we can’t just keep filing impeachment articles all the time.”

Yes you can! If the man is committing impeachable offenses on the regular, you’re acquiescing to a standard that raises the bar for impeachable offense to absurd levels.
How are voters meant to understand how serious things are if in lieu of shouting fire AND going into building with hoses, you're simply posting fire safety suggestions on social media?
Not introducing articles of impeachment is a message that Trump hasn't committed impeachable offenses.

I’m simply begging the Baileys, the imaginary couple who live in Chuck Schumer’s head, to please call their reps
Asked about the possibility of impeachment, Schumer says "we hope that we can have support from our Republican colleagues to put a brake on this long before it gets that far"

MDC will now be home to a leader who our country says is so dangerous they needed to be violently deposed.

The very same building also holds people that fled his regime who are being detained by ICE because we are not granting them asylum.

Last year @aoc.bsky.social confirmed phone pressure campaigns help flip votes. It's our right & duty to tell our reps how we want them to represent us.

I don't care if your senator is Ted Cruz. And what, you're gonna let Ted Cruz beat you? Come on, have some dignity in the collapse of democracy.

Call your reps today even though it’s Saturday. Don’t tweet or post at them, that does nothing. Call, and if you can’t call fax, and if you can’t fax email, and if you can’t email send a postcard.

Then set a weekly reminder in your phone to call, bc there’s always something to yell about.

I'm boosting myself to say this:

You're going to see people On Here tell you calling electeds doesn't matter. That's not true.

Some are bots. Some are people who like being contrary to be edgy.

But calling moves the needle, especially against a blatantly illegal act by Trump and Co. ACT.
Candid answer - as someone who handled constituent affairs calls for years - while they’re not checking the phone right now, the urgency of the moment is important.

Show them you care enough to make the weekend call, and be counted that way. Staffers will clock and report this upstream.
Is there actually a benefit to leaving a VM now vs getting a staffer on Monday? Can do both but just curious
