Protect libraries. Children are people. Abolish plenary adoption. Make streets safe for everyone. Trans rights are human rights.

i know i ask for a lot, but please see it this way:

if i can consistently follow the treatment plan and get the proper rest & support from my doctors, i can beat this thing and somehow return to my normal life & make a living again.

that's all i'm hoping for. to have a normal life again.
as you know, i'm behind on so much & can only pay bills depending on how much i receive in the form of mutual aid

if you click on my ko-fi goal, there's a list of immediate needs that i need to cover & there's also a list of the medical debt that needs to be cleared ASAP.

It's been interesting to think about how this movie is and isn't about my experience. I'm not in it, nobody has asked me to speak or write about it, it's almost like what happened to me never happened. Except that Iowa extremists are attacking libraries because 'ALA wants to queer the catalog.'

clearly as a society we need to start taking seriously the rights of automobiles to lead a wild and free existence without our “playing god” and implanting them with technology that alters their true and essential nature (accelerating to 90mph in 5 seconds and smashing a child into bloody mist)

You know, when I played Thief 2, it was so baffling to me to understand why all the rich ppl were so excited to take the robots into their homes without questioning *why* their benefactor would want them to have robots, like it genuinely felt like such a plot hole to me at the time

Haha

Lol

Lmao
I'm uninstalling my RING today.

Dystopia notwithstanding, the Ring commercial about their surveillance finding lost pets makes no sense.

Of the ~10M pets lost annually, their service finds ~500. They want Americans to commit privacy suicide for a .005% success rate???

Yeah, no thanks. Cancelling.

I've been to some countries where people live under military rule or autocracy. And without fail, one of the questions I get when they ask about life in the U.S. is whether it's true that Americans just let homeless people die on the street.
During freezing temperatures in Port Arthur, Texas, a 61-year-old homeless man was found dead in his wheelchair outside a convenience store.

He was wearing a hospital gown and no shoes. Authorities say he had been released from a hospital the previous day.

This is a diseased society.

that’s it. no more alcohol, no more caffeine, no more weed. my body is a temple. i’m only dosing microplastics and endocrine disruptors from now on
this was way more prevalent when i was still on tiktok but it feels like people are getting really weird about alcohol, coffee, anything that might make you happy--even in innocuous amounts! feels like we're re-engineering puritanism as a method of maintaining control (over ourselves, each other)
starting to feel like there's a direct relationship between the growing obsession with lifestyle hygeine (no drinking, no caffeine, no sex, obsessive working out and looksmaxxing) and the inability to meaningful moral stands on issues of actual import

My stomach just sank realizing the ramifications of this. If her removal is approved, she'll go back to a country, a language, and a world she's never lived in.

She never learned Farsi. She's American! This is what international adoptees face.

Pass the Adoptee Citizenship Act!!
Just found out a friend of mine, an Iranian adoptee, has been given notice by DHS to report to court to justify her stay in the states.

She's lived here all her life, but her parents never finalized her citizenship, so she's targeted.

I hate this country.

“the worst people just won’t wear seat belts,” and this is why seat belts have manifestly done nothing to improve road safety over the past half century
You would immediately be able to buy a speed limiter hacking kit on the black market and all the worst people would have them disabled. We've seen this before with every other technological solution to a societal problem, from covid vaccination cards to plane transponders.

Very annoyed at the people who decided to open the floodgates to online sports betting, it is absolutely a scourge. Great piece from Gabrielle Gurley on people spending hours a day on these predatory apps.

York County, South Carolina's GOP party decided one of their initiatives this year is banning the American Library Association from its county.

This is a bizarre priority for a county-level GOP party, isn't it?

Perhaps not so when you know anything about York County's Library.

Listen to intercountry #adoptees, who for years have been telling us about the abject powerlessness and dependence of being adopted, and who have been warning us about the capriciousness with which the state judges who counts as “belonging” to this country.
