What we are all experiencing is called "resilience targeting." It is a deliberate attack favored by many of todays shitlords, and is a fairly well known theory in disinfo and climate circles; it's just that everyone seems to be in denial that it's an attack. Today might be a good day to read up

"they're treating us like we're black lives matter"--is a direct quote from a jan 6 putchist and white woman whining about the kid-glove pushback her lynch mob was receiving from capitol police for trying to murder members of congress and overthrow the republic
I still remember Ma telling me five years ago that if these insurrectionists on January 6th were Black, then they would be dead. Five years later, they are almost all alive, out of jail, and their guy is back in the White House. If that’s not White privilege, then I don’t know what is.

If you are willing to yell at your GOP electeds in a good cause, here is one:
Also another reminder that <10 people in Washington - all of whom are Republicans & all of whom keep getting total daily free passes from the media about their cowardice - could end most of the madness tomorrow by simply caucusing with the Democrats & giving them control of both the House & Senate.
Suddenly the special election in TN-07 becomes potentially hugely consequential. It shouldn’t be competitive, but if Democrats steal it, when Greene resigns the Republican majority will be down to 218-216 w a sure Dem seat with no special scheduled in Texas.

First CES panel. Intuit CMO Thomas Ranese is proud of his company's integration with OpenAI, which involves giving AI read/write access to tax data. Since prompt injection attacks are unavoidable, I asked him who will be liable when customer data is exposed: Intuit, OpenAI, etc?

He had no idea.

Rep. Doug LaMalfa, who died this morning, was one of 147 Republicans who voted to overturn the 2020 election.

It was defining moment of his political career—one that must not be forgotten on the anniversary of January 6.

There are only 218 Republicans left in the House.

Make them produce a majority every day, every hour, for every thing.

I wish ai had words for this. All I can say is that the thing about frogs and boiling water is a myth. We know how this plays out, but we just don’t want to believe it. Propaganda and lies right on the White House website? Violent military takeovers of other countries? Troops on the ground at home?

I agree that this administration and the extremists that drive it online have tried to make themselves immune to shame, but their egos are massive and they actively need us to like them, defer to them, laugh at their "jokes". When they start feeling more accountability they'll feel more shame.

Also the target of shame isn't just them, it's people who are still figuring out who they should be like. The goal is to make it really unappealing to be like these extremists.

January 6 in History

Wrote this two years ago: “If the insurrectionist-in-chief returns to power without ever facing any real consequences and while explicitly declaring his intent to establish a vindictive autocracy, then January 6 will have been successful.”

And here we are.
January 6 in History
Was it a key moment in the republic’s eventual demise or a milestone on the road to democracy’s ultimate triumph? The meaning of January 6 is yet to be determined
