I cannot state this strongly enough:

Trans healthcare is literally lifesaving. I would not be here today if it were not a thing.

It is not something that can be put off in a healthy way, it is not a frivolous lark. We exist, and we hurt in ways that most cis people cannot start to understand.
On Friday, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management issued a memo announcing that, beginning in 2026, all federal employee health plans will be barred from covering gender-affirming care for both transgender youth and adults.

The memo also mandates that insurers cover “faith-based counseling,” otherwise known as conversion therapy.

Genuinely speechless. Not shocked. But speechless.
This is where it was inevitably heading with Tucker -- sitting down with the VDARE guy and talking about how whites are the supreme race.

Some thoughts:

1. The deadline for nominating a person or group for the Nobel Peace Prize is Feb. 1.

2. History professors are qualified nominators.

3. The people of Minnesota have been awe-inspiringly peaceful in the face of state violence.

4. He would be so mad.

there were some in our company too recently
I feel for my friends at Nordstrom who were laid off this week, several having devoted 10+ years to that company

I couldn't find a single story about the hundred of people who lost thier jobs; How many more unreported mass layoffs are happening under the cover of Minnesotans being terrorized daily?

I know I don't have a ton of media followers, but I'll put this out there anyway: if you need someone to comment/offer context on the removal of the slavery exhibit at the President's House site in Philly, get in touch. I just finished an entire book on Americans' fight over Washington and slavery.

Yesterday, I drove refugees that had been shipped off to Texas all the way back home to St. Paul

Seeing them reunite with their families reminded me this is their home.

So keep sending them to Texas. I’ll keep driving ‘em back and introducing them to Bucc-ee’s and KC barbecue along the way.

They're pening very strongly worded letters right now in hopes to pass a law that trump will ignore without consequence
And then they'll tell us there's nothing else they can do, unless we vote for them in the midterms
The power is in our hands, not theirs, even though we elected them to DO THINGS
God I'm not looking forward to the Dems "heroically" passing a bill that they cannot use 5 year old kids as bait, but the children must be at least 7 years old.

They will look at each other, give big hugs and cry about a monumental effort and tell us they're fighting for us.

This is serious enough I'm reposting my own posts.

Minnesotans are talking to and befriending strangers.

And being openly emotional and swearing a lot in public.

People who would never in a million years so much as boo or heckle anyone at a sporting event are heckling ICE like whoa.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

I have actively skated derby for 13ish years. At 45 weeks a year, 3 practices a week, 2 hours a practice, that is 2510 hours.

that doesn't count the fact that many of my practices were longer than 2 hours, and I suspect it is an average of more than 3 practices a week, and I practiced alone often.

We have no functional national media in the way many people still think we do, so the more regular folks we can show this stuff to, the better. Make sure your friends, family, co-workers, REALLY see what’s going on. If you still have personal Facebook, blast it with these videos. Make it inescapable
One of the things I’m really struggling with about what’s going on in Minnesota is that if you describe what’s going on in plain, factual ways to someone who’s not paying close attention you sound completely, bugfuck crazy
Minnesota: "School officials say the [5-year-old] child was used as bait. They say [ICE] agents made little Liam knock on the door to ask to be let in in order to see if anyone else was home."

Scientific research of gender transition has been stuck on "should these people be allowed to transition" for 50 years, so we don't know shit about how transitioning actually works.
Okay, transphobes freaking out because trans woman makes good on Broadway, yadah, yadah. But you skimmed right over the interesting bit. Estrogen made her feet smaller?? This is the kind of weird factoid I need to know more about. Is there scientific backing for this? Is it just anecdotal?
Dylan Mulvaney's latest success, this time on Broadway, once again has conservative weirdos frothing at the mouth.
