This is perfect. The DOJ's embarrassing snafu with disappearing redactions was the fault of Elon Musk. Musk cancelled government subscriptions to Adobe programs that would have made the redactions permanent. What a pack of fools.

One of the most insufferable things is when people go "uh excuse me ICE AREN'T cops," like no actually they are the quintessence of cops. They are pure concentrated cop, 100% by volume

The state is destroying all of our media institutions to make advancing their agenda easier

If you want to protect trans people, stop paying for cable/streaming services that work for the state, and start supporting independent information sources that push back against state power
We are closing in on $3,000 for our worker-run trans newsroom. Every donation helps get us closer to that and our final goal — and funds hard-hitting journalism.
Our winter fund drive is on. Consider a tax-deductible donation to support TNN (and get a gift).

Our reporting is in-depth, hard-hitting and unrepentantly radical.

Your donations go to keeping trans journalists out of poverty and informing our communities, which is now more important than ever.

ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

In the last month I have seen more kids on the street, 5-8 YOs with parents asking for money, and 14-16 YOs on their own

The ‘lucky’ ones this winter are anxiously waiting for the economy to blow-up, many are already experiencing life-threatening crises

Feeling grateful for the two dozen elected officials and economic justice orgs who support the Well Washington Fund. Backfilling devastating cuts to public programs will be a team effort in the 2026 Washington State Legislative Session:

Bluesky suspending antifascist researchers for sharing publicly available information about literal nazis.
I’m back after a 3 day suspension for sharing a link to publicly available police reports exposing Blood Tribe nazis. They also removed the post. Bluesky evidently prioritizes the protection of literal, active nazis over community safety. Unfortunately for BT, they’re already in the sunlight now :)

This, inequality, and a shit economy is why gambling has exploded in the US
The younger generations are so disappointed and frustrated by the state of the housing market they are spending more of their earnings than they are saving, they’re working less, and they’re making risky investments, per YF.

The judge also ordered that teachers have a right to misgender trans youth even when the parents know of and are supportive of their trans child. Just in case you thought this was actually about parental rights.
24 Dec 2025 @rikiwilchins.bsky.social -- Judge overturns CA school policy on outing trans kids, rules parents have right to know & teachers a right to tell them but no mention of child's rights. Case likely bound for Supremes. Weirdly CA law allows abortion w/o parental notification.
Federal judge rules California teachers are allowed to ‘out’ transgender students to parents
The ruling applies to all public schools in California and is a victory for two teachers who claimed that district policies violated their constitutional free speech and religious rights.

"Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles."

That’s a good start! But we do also need to use resources from a Millionaire’s Tax to fund public schools and backfill federal safety net cuts.

I am glad we all can now discuss how we spend revenues from a Millionaire’s Tax, rather than argue about whether we should pass such a tax.
Our tax system is way too regressive.

Let’s use resources from a Millionaires’ Tax to provide tax credits for Washingtonians and make sure small business owners pay less in taxes.

Bob, don't fuck around with us, we need real leadership right now, not tepid gestures toward solutions

Don't leave the crisis in the next persons hands like @bruceforseattle.bsky.social did for @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social

That's not how you serve the public, that's how you serve power
By announcing his support for this tax idea today (it would not kick in til 2029), Ferguson was able to take away some attention from the fire his immediate supplemental budget proposal is taking from fellow Democrats and progressive groups for its mix of cuts and fund swipes.

While it’s good news that Bob Ferguson now supports an income tax, his plan would delay it to 2029. And he proposes a lot of austerity before that, including huge cuts to public education. That’s bad policy and bad politics.
WA schools Superintendent Reykdal criticizes Ferguson’s proposed cuts
The governor floated cutting $146.7 million in education spending from the general fund in fiscal 2027, according to his proposed supplemental budget.
