Stephanie Sterling. A Transfem She/Them Polyantagonist. Writer for Vampire Survivors, Date Everything, & Quantum Witch. Also a pro wrestler. Currently accepting writing gigs for cool games by cool people.
My new favorite video genre is people who’ve played so much Dark Souls they have to get really weird to keep their challenge runs interesting.

I’m counting down until I see “every time I die I swallow a piece of Lego” or “I beat Nameless King first time or I cheat on my wife.”

Replaying Kirby: Mass Attack for the first time since it was new. The image of ten Kirbies swarming on a guy like ants is never not endearing (and faintly alarming).

I also forgot there’s a whole ass Kirby Pinball successor as a sub-game, too. Picking this up was a good move.

It’s a bad show that’s not good to enjoy, and here’s more of it.

Yes. I’m not yet credited as I was originally just consulting, but I’m actually co-authoring this. Much of the lore will come from yours truly 😊.

It’s not “booming markets” so much as exploding prices and shrinking value. It’s railroading normal people into paying more for less, to increasingly unsurvivable rates.

The markets these fuckers peddle is a scam and billionaires are thieves.
"What a year for the ultra wealthy. The world’s 500 richest people added a record $2.2 trillion to their collective fortunes in 2025’s… booming markets, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. And about a quarter of this year’s gains went to just eight billionaires.” — Bloomberg Morning Brief

My birthday present to myself, these amazing little Kirby ornaments from Japan. Got two more to assemble, but had to show them off now.

There’s very little Marx or Kracko stuff, so I love these extra hard.

I want a Kirby crossover with Blood called Crudux Poyo.

It was hell doing it with YouTube’s awful inbuilt editor, but I believe I’ve been able to surgically remove the line relatively seamlessly.

Might take a while for it to show, but it’s fixed. I can’t stand to not have my arguments as flawless as possible.
Fair enough, I’ve made a note in the scrippy. Doesn’t change my opinion of the game at all, of course, but it’s fair to point out.
A small correction to your commentary about Z-A: Lumiose City is *not* rendered as a single model, that's misinformation based on a leaked model for a... model. On the second floor of the museum. There's a model of the city there, and *that* is what the leaked model was used for.

Tech platforms censor words, not meaning. It’s frighteningly insidious. This kind of censorship explicitly empowers bad actors by robbing their critics of the language to criticize.

Euphemisms are often the domain of fascists and predators. It’s a domain that online media wants to gate us inside.

Blanket censoring the word “gambling” is literally a pro gambling move.

Gambling platforms avoid the word for obvious reasons, so YouTube eliminating its use under the pretense of combating gambling is the best fucking cover a gambling platform could ask for.

It’s pretty disgusting.
YouTube removed another of my anti-videogame gambling videos for being pro-gambling.

What a fucking farce of a website.

Dead Space: Extraction is a good idea let down by the fact it’s so fucking broken I can’t finish the second level because it always softlocks in the same spot.

So annoyed I spent like three quid on it.

Oh my god, I absolutely love this!

Really fantastic stuff.
The only thing your pathetic mouth has to say is “Yes, Commander.”

This started as just a warm up sketch and I think I over did it, but, I’ve been wanting to do a piece for @commandersterling.bsky.social for awhile now.

Give me a deliciously fabulous villain and you have my heart. Final Fantasy IX gave me the swishiest, fanciest, most hips-havingest villain of all.

In a genre full of campy baddies, Kuja’s still one of the all-time greats.

In my life I’ve always been predisposed toward forgiving a fuck up and I extend that to game dev too.

Arriving to that conclusion about AI on your own and doing the work to undo it, that takes some integrity I think. I can’t in good faith judge that harshly.
Curious what your stance is on companies that used it and then realized it was a mistake (not from backlash) after the fact and removed it. Im personally a proponent of supporting people that are willing to reevaluate and change. Several small indie projects I've enjoyed had this kind of trajectory.

I very much don’t regret hedging my bets with my award video now.

I’m fine with this reasoning. I can understand playing with AI BS back then. I dicked around with really early image makers like many people did when it seemed more like a toy.

So yeah, not gonna pillory it, glad I hung back a bit.
In order to put to rest “did they actually use it or not”, Guillaume Broche said it a recent Q&A that they tried AI when the tech was new, but they didn’t like it, it felt wrong to them. And they will not be using it in the future.
