Bunch of new followers recently, so here’s a quick rundown of stuff I work on:

I WROTE A BOOK. It’s about isolation and madness and our desperate need for human connection. You can buy it. I also read the audiobook and venture to say I do it very well torpublishinggroup.com/your-shadow-...

If you have a ring camera, it is possible to return it and get a refund, and looking into doing so might be well worth your time.

"Experts and witnesses attributed this phenomenon to Israel’s systematic use of internationally prohibited thermal and thermobaric weapons, often referred to as vacuum or aerosol bombs, capable of generating temperatures exceeding 3,500 degrees Celsius [6,332 degrees Fahrenheit]."
“Four of my children just evaporated,” Badran said, holding back tears. “I looked for them a million times. Not a piece was left. Where did they go?”

There are no words to adequately describe the evil here.
Israel used weapons in Gaza that made thousands of Palestinians evaporate
US-made thermal weapons burning at 3,500C caused 2,842 people to "evaporate" in Gaza, Al Jazeera investigation finds.

Again it’s important to remember the context of these chats is that a woman was shot five times in her car as she was attempting to donate clothes at a church.
Here's another screen shot of a text where a fellow agent on the "Posse Chat" asks Charles Exum if the bosses have been supportive.

Being a human participant in human society confers upon one some very basic standards and obligations

Those were violated, horrifically. Outrage and betrayal is entirely appropriate bsky.app/profile/gwen...
It's not that I held them to a higher standard, it's that I held them to some semblance of the standards I'm used to everyday people abiding by with each other.

It's not that they weren't what I expected elites to be. It's that they weren't what I expected HUMANS to be.

A MAGA freak in Texas murdered his own daughter in cold blood after they had an argument about Trump.

A grand jury in the Dallas area then *declined to indict him*, and he has not yet faced charges.

Seems like many Texans believe a man has the right to kill his own child for disobedience.

I have very little patience also for people who express scorn for this kind of feeling of betrayal

It’s not an unhealthy way to feel. We should expect and demand more and we should be outraged and disgusted by outrageous and disgusting behavior
A sense of betrayal is a very tricky kind of grief to manage, because you're grieving someone who never really existed.

I've always held a pretty dim view of the US establishment & its institutions. After Trump's reelection and the Epstein files, though... I realize that even so, I feel betrayed.

I think there are some extremely basic pretenses of decency the elite held for itself and it is so revealing to see how they just didn't bother.

So often not even a pretense, once they were outside the public eye.

That the illegal destruction of USAID will kill more than *20 million people* in the next five years, & has ALREADY KILLED 600,000 in just one year, is a world-historical crime that Americans aren't being told about in the terms & with the repetition necessary for them to believe it.

I’m so against punitive/carceral logic in general and yet I can’t help feeling like a legal system that made a couple of truly grisly examples of guys who do this might be uncomfortably effective at deterrence

They cannot simply wave a wand and cancel the election or spontaneously generate enough ICE goons to cover every polling place but they will absolutely try some bullshit, they are clearly already doing that, and we will be damned fools if we ignore it
February 10, 2026 at 5:10 PM
There’s a nuanced line to walk here between “ALL IS LOST” and “relax everything will be fine” and a huge amount depends on being able to walk it so it’s a good thing social media is great at nuance
Big agreement from me that the best way to stop them is to win by unfuckwithable margins. One hundred percent. But we should not have poll workers being surprised if ICE shows up to some spots. They should be trained for it. We should have anti-insurrection plans ready to go.
