In that frame, the context of a larger deemphasis of surgery never occurred. Trans people are imagined to be on a conveyor to surgery - but that's not true.

It's almost exactly a decade since SC's northern neighbor tried to establish bathroom discrimination and got boycotted by sports leagues and companies alike. A decade of billionaire fascists and their friends in media and academia pouring money into pushing transphobia and anti-feminist politics.
