It's wild how many people seem to not understand opportunity costs. Childcare wasn't "free," it cost whatever the average salary of a woman was in 1955, because that's what you missed out on by having her be the child care
Lot of thoughts about That Article, but one thing that made me scream. The cost of childcare was not zero! That our system devalues feminized care labor doesn’t make it actually free. Opportunity costs are a thing, childcare is more expensive because of Baumol, not because it was free before.

This was obviously a fine and perfectly defensible position at the time and it was genuinely shameful that some people here wanted to boost their own cred by arguing that Trump should have been allowed every tool to continue his crusade to drive Hunter Biden to suicide.
Have any news outlets that ran scathing front page headlines, op-eds and editorials about Biden pardoning Hunter admitted that they were wrong after we've seen Trump maliciously prosecute Comey, James, McIver etc?
