I started writing when I was six, binding little books together with construction paper and yarn, and people really think I'm gonna be horny to drink from the LLM recombinant barf trough "trained on" all my favourite authors plus like Stormfront with a smattering of incel forums?? Not really, man

Just give people money who say they need money—let them use it however they want; ban vehicles from public streets that are over a certain size; melt the guns.

I have more but that’s a good start.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

I cannot begin to properly articulate how upsetting it is to have had people baselessly accuse trans people of being groomers and pedophiles only for it to come out that they were deliberately doing this as part of a project to provide cover to actual groomers and pedophiles in positions of power

I do, of course, have a paragraph from "Why We Fear AI" for this

I'm raising funds to support Scarleteen and y'all got me to my initial $1,000 goal so quickly that I want to push for $1,500! Thanks to a donor matching overall donations up to $10,000 if we GET to $10,000, your dollars will count twice if you help us reach our goal.

Our direct services are world-famous, award-winning, and provided by real people who care deeply for the young people visiting us to ask for help. Help us raise $40,000 to support the health care needs of the people doing this work. www.classy.org/campaign/scarl...

Today, nurse Hammam has a simple fundraising goal. $50 to buy one chicken for his family. I think we can get him there today, wouldn't you say?

This is why a lot of us are avoiding crossing that border.
I legitimately think this article misses the mark, because Canadians are not avoiding travel out of some principled boycott of the USA over tariffs.

Canadians who are avoiding the USA are seeing images of masked government thugs kidnapping people and teargassing children.

The great defining bond of having experienced girlhood is turning 11 and being actively punished by the entire adult world because a bunch of weird men want to fuck you
Theres actually an important convo to be had re: the difference between 5 & 15yo victims of predation, how society treats them, etc. but the ppl most eager to have that talk tend to be interested in the concept of “acceptability” & excusing predation rather than preventing it or helping anyone

careful, berlusconi first got elected in the wake of mani pulite in '94 and his ascendence was an exercise in redirecting anti-corruption work of his opposition for 25 years. if and when trump is defeated, there will be a vacuum.

the solution is socialism, and eliminating billionaires from society
The Epstein story gets a something that is tearing at the heart of the electorate: elite impunity. The idea that wealthy and powerful people can do terrible things *at scale* and face no consequences for them. Whatever political party actually stops it could rule the country for a generation.

The secret third thing is that weirdos who are obsessed with breeding a master race are frequently also pedophiles.
Right, these are the two options: Either they tolerated Epstein's eugenics to get to the sex crimes or they tolerated his sex crimes to get to the eugenics
It seems like all of the rich and powerful people around him patronizingly tolerated the race science stuff (“he has such an inquisitive and childlike mind”) in order to get access to his harem of underage sex slaves

This really struck me. If Uber were legally acknowledged as an employer, then it would be the biggest employer in the world, with over 9,000,000 employees globally. Think about how many taxes, wages, and protections are being lost b/c of their intransigence.

Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed

Happy whale carcass explosion day to all who celebrate!
November 12th, 1970, 450kg of dynamite is placed in the sand on the leeward side of the 45ft deceased sperm whale, the resulting blast is recorded and broadcast on KATU

the explosion launched chunks of whale nearly a fifth of a mile, some large enough to damage vehicles

This is also why setting up a recurring donation is so valuable, if you can swing it. Knowing that they'll get even $5 consistently each month REALLY increases how much food they can provide.
spoke with the executive director of my local food bank today and got this really incredible line: "if you donate 1 can of green beans, we can give away 1 can of green beans. but if you donate a dollar, we can give away 6 cans of green beans"

If we're going to uncritically internalise idealisms of "the body" like this then we won't make it. We can't say we're going to fight racism and ableism and misogyny and transphobia if we're going to cling to moral conceptions of aesthetically tolerable bodies. This is failure at the first hurdle.

I really miss that stretch of time when fatness was being treated as human and beautiful. The snap back to pseudohealth body standards is really fashy and has infected the left to everyone's detriment. imo.

Shereen has lost most of her extended family and her husband recently (while holding her son) had a chain from an Israeli aircraft fall on him and shatter his arm/ give him a head injury- luckily little Ahmed was safe. She started this fundraiser after this happened because he can no longer help
I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Shereen. Shereen and her husband (a house painter) fled their home early in the war thinking it would only be for 2 days. She lost everything as well as many family members. Her main concern is getting her son, Ahmed, 4 into a kindergarten.

A bit of something wholesome in this day of rage...

A woman asks a Japanese TV show called Knight Scoop to find out why her dog Sacchan has gotten so fat, so the show decides to follow Sacchan around as he goes about his daily routine in a Japanese town.

I'd watch the hell out of this show.

If you can help, it's deeply appreciated.
Oh Hai 👋🏿

If I can keep these gig contracts steady, the last 15% of this campaign (that I started in October 2022) will go to the bigger ticket items that I still need like neonate appropriate pulse oximeters, for ex., and my licensure exam fees.

This is what I came for.

Losing #measles elimination status as predicted is the result of vaccines being a victim of their incredible success. It quite sad that people will need to experience the suffering inflicted by an infection like measles in order to remember why elimination was remains something to strive for.
As expected, Canada has lost its measles-free status because of the long-running outbreak there. With it goes the #measles elimination status of the entire zone of the Americas, the only division of the #WHO to ever have achieved measles elimination. www.statnews.com/2025/11/10/m...
Canada loses measles elimination status — as does the entire Americas region
Canada has formally lost its measles elimination status, the country’s public health agency announced, triggering the loss of that status throughout all of the Americas.

There's a Kurtzgezagt video on this (www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-K7...). Every illness damages your body. The body makes repairs but it will never be the way it was before. A big reason you are aging better than your grandparents did is because vaccines saved your from illness aging you as a child.

The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

still fleshing out this theory (pun intended, I guess?) but there is so much magical and symbolic thinking going on when people talk about "nutrition"

people seem to food as a source of not just potential biological contagion, but social, and, even weirder, symbolic contagion via sympathetic magic

99.9% of the time when someone says "ultra-processed foods" what they really mean is "the kinds of foods I assume fat, unhealthy poor people eat, and to which I ascribe blame for their fatness and ill-health, because I believe they are stupid and have no self-control."
