Something I hate about alternative medicine is that if you're in a flare then people who have no apparent health issues whatsoever will jump at the chance to tell you you should ditch your treatment and eat powdered turmeric. So you can't ever talk about it in case people disappoint you

Some mod was saying a little while ago it's near impossible to design policies because 50% will always be mad at you, and that does track with the managerialism of public relations, political careers etc - the belief that making things work is synonymous with getting people to stop shouting at you

One curious thing that helped me a lot in my freelance career is knowing a lot of other freelancers.
Being able to tell people "I'm not the most suitable person for this, but I know a guy/gal/pal who is" is a great way to present yourself as reliable and considerate, which'll take you very far
