Vance still think Trump won't gleefully stab him in the back at an opportune moment. I love that for us.

Heston was openly conservative and still got roles. Eastwood is very conservative and people love his movies. Mel Gibson is crazier than a shithouse rat but everyone recognized Hacksaw Ridge was amazing.

Maybe ... it's not your views, oh star of the grand Hollywood epic Deuce Bigalow.

An essential development over the past decade-plus is that the ignorant went from feeling chastened when their ignorance was revealed to banding together and deciding that, actually, they were right. They might disagree at times, but they agreed that ignorance itself was an indicator of trust.

Michael Dukakis being up 17 points in early polling was one of the most bizarre moments in the history of political polling. It was like if polls showed Americans like mayonaise on their pizza.
1. I did not vote for him.
2. His Greekness did not move me; as one political operative in my state said to me: "I knew Michael before he was Greek."
3. I laid down a C-note against him in the summer of 1988 when he was 17 pts ahead and the Dem who bet me never paid up when Bush won.
@radiofreetom.bsky.social Off-topic, but what did you think of Michael Dukakis, not only a New England governor when nominated for president in 1988 but also the first Greek-American to be a major party nominee for the presidency?

True as far as it goes. Most previous President drew a distinction between supporting Israel and handing them a blank check.
Netanyahu: We've never had a friend like President Trump in the White House. It's not even close. I think Israel is very blessed to have President Trump leading the United States.

The other had previously been homeless and got caught urinating outside because he couldn't access bathrooms regularly.

reminder that many people on the sex offender registry aren't violent or sex offenders.

I've mentioned it before, but I had an apartment 2 neighbors were on the sex offender registry.

Obviously I wanted more information, but when I looked up their names I found out that

(1/2)
NEW: beginning january 1, chicago will ban unhoused people on the sex offense registry from seeking shelter on public transit.

it’s the latest in a concerted effort by mayor johnson’s admin to criminalize homelessness on cta trains + buses and in public parks during the coldest months of the year.

This is staggeringly stupid and unprofessional.

This is why you don't fucking hire trolls and clout chasers for fucking high level positions.

Harmeet is manifestly unfit for her fucking job, which I suppose puts her in good company, nobody running shit at the DOJ is fit for their god damn job.
This is not how a normal Justice Department talks about an ongoing investigation—or about putative targets and their uncharged conduct.

I switched to a paid account a couple of years ago. Absolutely worth it to fund the work he's doing. His recent post on the boat bombing was a thorough point-by-point destruction of every Administration talking point.
I don't use a paywall, mostly because I want my work to be read. So I'm entirely reliant on readers who support my work. This is both how I primarily make my living and how I fund my reporting trips.

At some point, the concept of "moral hazard" will reach Washington. But it is not this day.
Most underrated Biden admin mistake was bailing out Silicon Valley Bank.

SVB bet big on low interest rates and lost. Rich tech VCs who put too many eggs in that basket generated a bank run, then called for govt money.

Got their bailout, helped elect Trump, and now reaping rewards from corruption.
David Sacks, presumably, on the push by some in the tech and VC world to fund a primary challenge to Congressman Khanna.

Miller is not only a bigot, he's a stupid one.
Immigrant-hating Stephen Miller talks about Americans being "first to harness the atom." But the first controlled, self-sustaining nuclear chain reaction was conducted by a team led by Italian immigrant Enrico Fermi, who didn't become a U.S. citizen until a year and a half later.

“Stuff happens on Jan 6 2021”. Oh, you mean stuff like an attempted coup? That stuff?

Remember when these people went completely non linear because Omar said “some people did some things” on 9/11?

I am annoyed by the persistence of 'resist libs are tired of resisting Trump' line.

No Kings put record-breaking numbers of people into the streets, specials/off-years are at D+10 or more.

I don't think the resist libs are tired. I think some writers are tired of writing about resist libs.

This has got to be eating away at Trump from the inside. He was practically salivating at the prospect of all the fancy ppl doing performances in his honor at one of the fanciest performance centers in the world.

Now it's just an empty amusement park that I guess he can invite the UFC to.
Issa Rae has canceled her sold out performance at the Kennedy Center. Pulitzer Prize winner Rhiannon Giddens, Peter Wolf, Low Cut Connie, and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C., have also canceled. Lin-Manuel Miranda has canceled the entire Kennedy Center run of Hamilton.

“We’re healthy, we don’t need a shot,” makes just as much sense as, “We won’t get in a crash, we don’t need to buckle up.”

You can’t know that. You cannot know if you or your kids are merely one infection away from being horribly unwell.
The death of any child is tragic. We always think it will not be my child, they are healthy. Severe influenza can be unpredictable & deadly. Getting vaccinated considerably reduces dz severity and deaths. Please make sure you are vaccinated & your children are too.
