I wrote something that felt pretty straightforward about the Phillies re-signing J.T. Realmuto, a team and player many people have many opinions about.

TA: The Phillies Put a Number on J.T. Realmuto | Baseball Prospectus
A crucial offseason has resulted in essentially running back last year's team, thus far.

I also wrote on the state of catcher at large, through a fantasy lens but also generally. It's pretty healthy, relative to past years

Today at @baseballprospectus.com: Last week the team with the fifth-best record in MLB last year signed a free agent. You probably heard about it. Here are some observations about the finances.

Other than that the Dodgers, once again, landed the trophy.

revealing and representative (but not new or surprising) aspect of this, imo, is how Jennings latches on to "you can't" as "not allowed" and throwing a tantrum about it, ignoring (he knows, clearly) the obvious but unsaid "logically" or "truthfully" in Kasky's comments
Kasky to Jennings: I understand that your job is predicated on just getting increasingly more demented every single week

Our Houston Astros Top Prospects list, courtesy of Grant Schiller is up, with recent draftee Xavier Neyens leading the way.
2026 Prospects: Houston Astros Top Prospects | Baseball Prospectus
With some prospects near to the majors and some far, Houston's system offers less impact than might be desired.

I said to my wife right before the third and 10 that became third and 15: I'd be going to Toney, so obviously she's really impressed* with me now

don't really understand the point of running your own RSN to then broadcast fewer games (even spring training games)
From my conversation with Cubs president of business ops Crane Kenney:

*World Series champion archway monument to be unveiled in July

*Marquee to broadcast a lot fewer ST games
“Really hard decision but it seemed like it made the most sense to us.”

Chicago Cubs to unveil World Series archway monument at Gallagher Way — and Marquee reducing spring broadcasts
To honor the franchise’s three World Series championship teams, the Chicago Cubs are creating an archway monument at the Clark Street entrance of Gallagher Way.

TRUMP: Trump Nobel Peace Prize. Practical Trump world award
NORWEGIAN PM: No, Trump. We can't give you a Nobel Peace Prize.
TRUMP: Good prize good Trump give terrific Trump deserve president
NORWEGIAN PM: Trump, we simply can’t award you a Nobel Peace Prize. We have no role in it.
TRUMP: jealousy PM
Norwegian PM Støre says Trump repeatedly raises—complains about, pleads for, and demands—the Nobel Peace Prize every time they meet. Støre gives same answer each time: decision is made independently by Norwegian Nobel Committee, with no role for Norwegian gov—a concept Trump appears unable to grasp.

Louisiana Express/Louisiana Kitchen. First version was a total dive, I had to convince several friends to go in, it looked so bad outside. Best Chicken Cheesesteak Po' Boy there was. We had our rehearsal dinner there after it reopened (it's closed again).

would.
Got my first bag of potato chips in months. Cracked it open. The first chip out of the bag was... soggy?

The second chip was almost fungal.

Baffled, I explored the bag and discovered AN ENTIRE POTATO. Unsliced, brined, like a wad of seasoning juice. It had survived, and now was juicing the chips.

we didn't get a breakdown of Tucker's deal in terms of how the money splits out outside of the signing bonus, right? I'm assuming a very low 2026 salary but
