Will Venable spoke to the media today.

For eight months out of the year, he’s talking to us so often that it occasionally devolves into me reading him his head-to-head numbers against old, but still active pitchers.

So, that's five trades with the Rays, two waiver claims of their former players, a Rule 5 pick, and an AGM hire in 2025.

The White Sox are hiring former Rays' AGM Carlos Rodriguez to be an AGM for them. In 15 years with Tampa, Rodriguez wound up wearing a lot of different hats and focused on a lot of different areas, and it sounds like that'll be the case here too.

The White Sox went from 11 assistant coaches to 12 (if you count bullpen catchers) for next season. In a lot of places, 9% inflation inspires panic, but it feels more measured in this case.
